Student answer (Band 6.0)
It has been argued that nowadays, it is very common for people's mindsets and behaviours to change as they grow older. I completely agree with this view because of increased responsibilites and changing priorities in their lives, whihc makes them to think openly. This essay will examine the reasons behind this change.
One of the major reasons why people's habits have changes on turning older is now they have additional responsibilites on them. As people enter thier adulthood their though process changes automaticly and they bacome more concious and responsible in thier family. They have to manage their career, family needs, finances and other commitments in their lives which makes them to think wisely and make the right decision. For example- A young person in the family might just think about his current needs and things that are more intresting for himself to gain what he is willing to do in his childhood but as he gets older he starts thinking openly and in a broader perspactive and takes the right call that would be beneficial for the good of all. Thus increase in responsibilies comes with an age which is an important reason why people's thoughts and mindset changes.
Another significant reason is that the people's priorities changes and they get older. People's goals and circumstances changes and that encourages them to focus on more important aspects of their life. While young chindren might priotise palying, going out with friends, where as after getting married or having kids they think of their future, to live a comfortable life, also their future planning. For example- Young people spend time on leisure activies and fun but when they turn older they start thinking wisely and thier goals and priorities changes as they start thinking about thier future.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people's habits and mindset changes overtime. This is mainly because of the additional responsibilites and changing priorities in thier lives change overtime. As a result people often develop diferent habits and their actions changes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear and fully supported position that people's habits and opinions change as they get older. The writer introduces relevant main ideas concerning increased responsibilities and shifting priorities, supporting them with explanations and illustrative examples. While some ideas, such as the example contrasting young and older family members, tend to be slightly repetitive in their phrasing, the overall task is adequately covered and the arguments are clearly extended throughout the essay. This performance aligns well with the requirements for a Band 6.5 to 7.0, and a score of 6.5 is awarded as the development occasionally shows mild repetition.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and repetitive, evidenced by formulaic transitions like 'One of the major reasons why...' and 'Another significant reason is that...'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and logical progression is slightly hindered by repetitive sentence structures. Overall, the organizational framework is logical enough to ensure readability, which comfortably places this response in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'mindsets', 'behaviours', 'responsibilities', and 'perspactive'. However, there are notable spelling errors throughout the text, including 'responsibilites', 'whihc', 'automaticly', 'concious', 'intresting', 'perspactive', 'chindren', 'priotise', 'activies', and 'diferent'. These lexical and spelling inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the score, as they occur frequently enough to prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. Therefore, a score of 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over clause structures through the use of subordinating conjunctions like 'while' and 'because'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people's priorities changes', 'goals and circumstances changes'), faulty verb patterns ('makes them to think', where the infinitive should not take 'to'), and awkward phrasing. While these errors rarely completely obscure the meaning, they are persistent enough to cap the score at Band 5.5, reflecting a limitation in grammatical accuracy when attempting more complex structures.
