Student answer (Band 5.5)

According to my point of view habits and opinions could chande as person get growing both mentaly as well as physically .

I am totaly agree that as time passes that bring some changes .we have different choice and thinking when we were children but those are not remain same as we grow , Suppose in childhood we liked to see cartoons and different type of show but as we grow our like and dislike is also get change .Apart from this children have totaly different reaction on a perticular insidance then adult have . as we grow our responsibility also changes that make drastic change in our habits .for example young people like to stay in home chilling out with friends but after getting marrage and having children our priorities change than eventually our habits change.

older people generaly have different opinion than youngsters because older people gain more experince from their mistakes so their opinion is different .

younger people most of the time think that earning money is most important part of life but as they grow older then they will realise that health ,family ,mental relaxation is important as well

In conclussion i strongly belive that there is changes in habits and opinions as person get older this is mainly because responsibility increase and intrest towards life is getting change .as we get older than we have lots of lession from our mistakes that give us life experince .And teaches us varities of way to look world

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt directly by agreeing that habits and opinions change over time, supporting this with relatable ideas such as shifting childhood interests, increasing responsibilities, and gaining life experience. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat generalized and brief. For instance, the mention of earning money versus valuing health is introduced at the end of a paragraph without sufficient expansion or specific examples. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of explanation aligns more closely with a Band 6.0 descriptor, where relevant ideas are presented but remain slightly under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement, successfully guiding the reader through the writer's perspective on personal growth and changing opinions. Paragraphing is attempted, though the division could be managed more effectively to separate distinct points, as several sentences run together without adequate breaks or punctuation. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or basic (e.g., 'Apart from this', 'for example', 'In conclussion'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun ambiguity in phrases like 'that make drastic change'. Overall, the organization meets the requirements for a Band 5.0 or 5.5, but due to basic cohesion and flawed sentence boundaries, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate general ideas about aging and shifting habits. However, there is a very limited range of less common lexical items, and frequent spelling errors severely impact this criterion (e.g., 'chande' instead of change, 'mentaly', 'totaly', 'insidance', 'marrage', 'generaly', 'experince', 'conclussion', 'belive', 'intrest', 'varities'). These errors and repetitive word choices (such as repeatedly using 'grow' and 'habits') prevent the response from achieving a higher band, placing it squarely within the Band 5.0 category where noticeable errors and a limited vocabulary range are evident.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is quite low throughout the text. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'habits and opinions could chande as person get growing', 'those are not remain same', 'our like and dislike is also get change', 'responsibility increase', 'intrest towards life is getting change'). Punctuation is also poorly handled, with missing periods and commas leading to run-on sentences. Because these frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and accurate complex structures are rare, the performance reflects a Band 4.5 to 5.0, rounded to 5.0.
