Student answer (Band 5.0)

As people reached to mature age they change their attitude and opinion towards certain things, i agree to some extent that positive change of any individual can eventually benificial for overall society.

One of the reason of this change in mature people can have a brode perspective. For instance, adults are living there life with biased opinions, they don't change there biliefs in order to satisfy there ego. On the other hand, mature people has already experienced so many things in their life which develop patience in them. They are also not very vocal about politics and religion compared to adults, which help them to think about broad perspective.

While contrast in opinions and habits also lead to several kind of disturbance in family, like most young people don't agree with older people on certain issues. In most of the cases the habit of older people to do work manually can be problematic sometimes. Moreover, when mature people made opinion about a specific ideology they will defend it anyway they do not care about any evidence and truth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The student addresses the prompt by discussing whether people change habits and opinions as they get older, presenting a clear position that agrees to some extent. However, the response is severely limited by length, containing only 178 words compared to the minimum requirement of 250 words. This under-length impacts the development of ideas, leaving arguments underdeveloped and abrupt. While the writer attempts to explain why mature people have broader perspectives and touches on intergenerational conflict, the lack of word count prevents full exploration of the topic. Based on these limitations, the task achievement is constrained to a band 4.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is divided into three paragraphs, providing a basic structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, such as starting the second paragraph with "One of the reason" and the third paragraph with "While contrast in opinions". Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to vague antecedents. Paragraphing is attempted, but the ideas within paragraphs do not flow smoothly to a clear conclusion. Overall arrangement shows some organisation, but cohesion is faulty and mechanical, aligning with a band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and inadequate for a fully developed essay. The student uses basic words and makes frequent word choice and spelling errors, such as "benificial" instead of beneficial, "brode" instead of broad, "biliefs" instead of beliefs, and "there" instead of their. Phrases like "reached to mature age" are unnatural. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary like "perspective" and "ideology," the inaccuracies in collocation and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to a band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The student demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that result in severe grammatical errors. Examples include tense inconsistencies ("As people reached to mature age they change") and agreement errors ("mature people has already experienced"). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, leading to run-on structures. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and indicate a control of grammar characteristic of a band 4.5.
