Student answer (Band 5.5)

Change is an inevitable part of the nature. It also implemenes on human beings. People develop their own ideas and way of living as they grow. I completely agree with this statement, it happens due to impact of surronding, education, and personal expreience.

To begin with, personal experience is increased when individuals intract with their family and friends on daily basis. It enhances their ability to make an informed decision. They have past knowledge to raise their opinions at any pressing matter. For instance, if a person works in a Marketing Department with marketing experience, he would have enough knowledge to deal with any difficult situation. Furthermore, education plays an vital role in a decision-making process. A educated person knows the facts behind every situation. Individual will use own understanding, despite of getting influenced by others. For example, if an educated person watch an advertisement on television, one question will always raise in his mind that is it practical. Thus, personal experience and level of education changes the habits and opinions of person.

Moreover, the ability of adaptibility has increased with the time. Since person have capability to opt the right way to perform daily tasks, he makes personal opinions about it. For example, small children have less exprience and knowledge as compared to elders. As a result, they do not have ability to adopt the new skills.

In conclusion, changing habits and opinions with time is widespread approach. I believe, enhancement in knowledge, formal education, and person's abilities has impaced the way of living glabally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses the prompt directly by taking a clear position in agreement with the statement that people change their habits and opinions as they age. Relevant ideas are introduced regarding personal experience, education, and adaptability over time. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally shifts focus, such as the example about a marketing department which is not fully tied back to the central theme of personal opinions changing with age. Furthermore, some arguments are repetitive or lack deep extension. Therefore, the response aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some are under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct points, moving from personal experience and education to adaptability. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, as seen in transitions like 'To begin with' and 'Moreover', which do not always create a seamless flow between ideas. Referencing is also slightly unclear in places, such as the pronoun shifts between 'he', 'one', and 'they'. Overall, the logical progression is generally maintained, but the mechanical nature of cohesive devices places this response securely at Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'inevitable', 'informed decision', and 'adaptability'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'implemenes' instead of implements, 'surronding' instead of surroundings, 'expreience' instead of experience, and 'glabally' instead of globally. Additionally, the phrase 'plays an vital role' contains a grammatical article error. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, as the vocabulary range is minimally adequate with frequent noticeable inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure through conditional and relative clauses. Nevertheless, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('personal experience is increased', 'A educated person'), article omissions ('an educated person watch an advertisement... one question will always raise'), and awkward phrasing ('the ability of adaptibility has increased with the time'). While the meaning can generally be understood, these persistent errors cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6, making Band 5.0 a more accurate reflection of the current control.
