Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undoubtedly, there always has been a change in the way people live. It is said that individual change their habits and the way they think as they become older, and it is very common. I fully agree with the statement because they get exposure of the reality as they gradually become older, and people become more mature as comapred to the past.
To begin with, people will get more exposure of the reality as they get older. Life teaches them every lesson of life whether it is good or bad. they have to solve their problem by their own, and this is not only helpful to mitigate the issue but also improve the decision making. In the united states of America, for example, people are used to solve their personel problems by their own. As a result, their habits and their opinins has changing over the time.
Another prominent reason is that they beome more mature in their older age as compared to the past. And also, they may already faced all various situations that adult or younge people may still not faced. Moreoever, it is also said that due to some medical reason, they often change their behaviour and they way they live. they may feel bored to do same task for long period of time so that they alter their decision to do diffrent things. For instance, their ability to make decision is way better than adult or younger people.
In conclusion, although it is very commom for old age people to change their habits and opinions due to exposure of the reality of life and maturity, threy can make their decision way better than other age people and they have enough knowledge to tackle every situations easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that people do change their habits and opinions as they get older. The student supports this position with relevant ideas regarding real-life experience and growing maturity, such as learning from life lessons and solving personal problems independently. However, the development of these ideas tends to be slightly repetitive, particularly when discussing maturity and older age in both body paragraphs. While the examples given, such as people in the United States solving personal problems, are somewhat broad, they adequately support the main argument. Overall, the task is addressed clearly and the position is maintained throughout, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear overall progression and is divided into logical paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal relationships between ideas, such as 'To begin with', 'Another prominent reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and referencing consistency are sometimes faulty, as seen in the ambiguous use of pronouns like 'they' and 'their' which occasionally make it difficult to determine whether the writer is referring to old people, adults, or younger people. Additionally, some sentences within the body paragraphs lack smooth transitions, leading to a somewhat mechanical flow in places. Paragraphing is used appropriately, resulting in an overall coherent arrangement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'prominent reason', 'mitigate the issue', and 'alter their decision'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'individual change' instead of 'individuals change', 'comapred' instead of 'compared', 'personel' instead of 'personal', 'opinins has changing' instead of 'opinions have changed', 'yougner' instead of 'younger', and 'threy' instead of 'they'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, as the precision and control required for higher bands are not consistently sustained.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as 'It is said that individual change their habits...' and '...whether it is good or bad.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and articles, including 'people will get more exposure of the reality', 'they are used to solve', and 'opinins has changing'. Furthermore, punctuation slips are present, such as missing capitalisation at the beginnings of sentences ('they have to solve...'). Although these errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score, the meaning is generally clear, which aligns with the requirements for Band 5.5.
