Student answer (Band 6.0)
From my perspective, I agree to this statement with genuine confidence since that fact that people grow mature as they get older is factually correct, finalizing my decision to agreeing to this statement. Although, I have a few points to amend aswell; As a person grows older they learn from previous mistakes and misguidance, leaving all of their decision solely on pure experience, I wreckon that people with less mistakes tend to make more stupid and illogical decisions in their lifes leading to stubborness and guilt, which shape the way they behave and built there habits and opinions.
For instance lets take a toddler, how does he find out whats right and wrong? well it all comes from the mistakes he makes, and without the mistakes he will never learn; Its the typical way all living organisms evlolve, learn and adapt; since without learning and making mistakes they wont have the proper confidence to making decisions. Adding on, the toddler changes his opinions from thinking that walking is a very impossible task to walking without a care in the world, change of opinion has taken place. As the toddler comes about to be a teenager and learns fair bit about his/her society it tends to shape its structure and habits to what he/she has experienced and is trending around his/her surroundings, keeping that in mind the teenager shapes his/her habits to what the trend is following and what he genuinely enjoys. The teenager adapts and shapes its habits to keep up with the momentum of life and the societies trends.
From my experience I have not seen a single person who has not changed his opinions and habits as he grows older and mature. Every living species has to experience change which will tend to justify its decisions and forthcomings, hence, changing there way of life and changing opinions is a harsh reality everyone will have to face atleast once in their lives. Unfortunately, not all things require change of opinion, sometimes it can be a religious topic which requires a person to accept and put there trust in the topic regardless of the different opinions people have to make, it all comes down to the persons understanding of the topic. But even though all of this theoreticlaly isnt logical, faith is an essential part of life no one can argue off, and is one of the core fundamentals that justify and shape a persons character.
In conclusion, it is absolutely a common and a logical thing for people to have a change of there opinions and habits as it is the core aspect of life. And without change people will tend to keep on making the same old mistakes and will never evolve or learn new aspects of the world. In the end, it is all dependent on the persons feelings and its understanding in the flow of life, and how the person intereacts and learns. Not everone is the same, every individual has its own sense of feel and has its own capabilities and calibur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response clearly addresses the prompt by taking a strong stance in agreement that people change habits and opinions as they age. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as the comparison between toddlers and teenagers, as well as a brief consideration of faith and religion. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise and contain repetitive phrasing, such as reiterating that 'people grow mature' multiple times. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of development is occasionally limited by circular reasoning and wordiness. This aligns well with a Band 6.0, as the main position is clear and relevant ideas are presented, though some parts are slightly under-developed or repetitive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, providing a coherent overall arrangement. Logical progression is attempted, moving from an introduction to developmental stages like toddlers and teenagers, followed by an exception regarding faith, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, with heavy reliance on repetitive transition phrases like 'Adding on' and 'From my experience'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun shifts in the second paragraph ('how does he find out... without the mistakes he will never learn'). Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion lacks seamless integration. This performance corresponds to a Band 6.0, where the essay is coherent overall, but cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'misguidance', 'stubborness', 'fundamentally', and 'theoreticially'. However, there are notable word choice errors, awkward collocations, and spelling mistakes (e.g., 'grow mature' instead of 'grow more mature', 'wreckon' instead of 'reckon', 'lifes' instead of 'lives', 'evlolve', 'there' instead of 'their', 'theoreticly', 'intereacts', 'calibur'). These errors do not seriously impede communication because the overall meaning remains clear, but they prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. This represents a solid Band 6.0 lexical profile, featuring an adequate range with some inaccuracy in spelling and word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text, featuring frequent punctuation errors, run-on sentences, and faulty agreements (e.g., 'the fact that people grow mature... is factually correct, finalizing my decision to agreeing', 'the toddler changes his opinions from thinking that walking is a very impossible task'). Comma splices are prevalent, especially in the opening paragraph. Although complex structures are attempted, they are frequently flawed, and errors require the reader to occasionally reread sections. This fits the Band 5.0 descriptor, as there is a limited range of structures where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors cause some difficulty.
