It is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

As person grow older, it is quite common for them to change their habits and their opinions on different matters. I completely agree with this statment mainly because their habits and opinions often change as they gain more responsibilities and life experience.

One reason why people's habit change when they get older is that their responsibilities change. Young people often have more free time and may develop habits like staying up late or eating fast food. However, when they become adult and have jobs and family, they usually need more organized lifestyle. For example, a person who eats unhealthy food during their student life may start cooking healthly meals after getting a full-time job and family responsibilities. Therefore, it is common for people who get adult to change their habits as well as opinions as they have more responsibilities.

Another reason is that people's opinion can change as they gain more life experience. When people are young their opinions are based on their views which are strongly influenced by their parents, friends or social media. As they become adult they have complete different prespective of their beliefs as they meet new people and experience different situations make them reconsider. For example, a young person may think that having high salary is the most important part of a successful life. However, when they become adult they may realise that spending more time with the family and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a real success.

In conclusion, I completely agree that people often change their habits and opinions of different matter in different ages. Young people might have different habits and opinions compare to an adult who have more life experience and responsibilites.
