It is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older.
Do you agree or disagree?

Student answer (Band 7.0)
As people grow older, it is quite common for them to change their habits and opinions on different matters. I completely agree with this statement, mainly because people's habits and opinions often change as they gain more responsibilities and life experience.
One reason why people's habits change when they get older is that their responsibilities change. Young people often have more free time and may develop habits such as staying up late or eating fast food. However, when they become adults and have jobs and families, they usually need a more organised lifestyle. For example, a person who eats unhealthy food during their student life may start cooking healthy meals after getting a full-time job and having family responsibilities. Therefore, it is common for people to change their habits as they grow older and take on more responsibilities.
Another reason is that people's opinions can change as they gain more life experience. When people are young, their opinions may be strongly influenced by their parents, friends or social media. As they become adults, they may develop completely different perspectives as they meet new people and experience different situations. This can make them reconsider their beliefs. For example, a young person may think that having a high salary is the most important part of a successful life. However, when they become older, they may realise that spending more time with their family and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are also important parts of a successful life.
In conclusion, I completely agree that people often change their habits and opinions on different matters as they grow older. Young people may have different habits and opinions compared with adults because adults generally have more life experience and responsibilities.
