Student answer (Band 5.0)

It has been seen that people's habit and perspective plays vital role throughout their lives. It's very often that change in an individual's behaviour by not only their habit but also through their opinions while aging. There are multiple stages that could lead this phenomenon, though I agree to this as it's a natural process of a human being.

A human being has numerous phases from a child to an adult where life leads to challenges and tough decision making. Journey of life starting as a child, at initial phase, good habit are instructed to them by either from their school teachers or oftenly by thier gaurdians. Furthermore, a teenager life is more focused on academic achievements, where they continue to follow the daily schedule with time management as well as learning life lessons. Nevertheless, they build a sense of knowledge to share their opinion to their peers or friends which are limited to accuracy and precision. For instance, after completion of high school, friend or peer generally dicuss among themselves about their future course of study, due to lack of awareness they give opinion to select a course to each other instead of knowing their own interest.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The student addresses the prompt by agreeing that people change habits and opinions over time, briefly outlining life stages. However, the response is incomplete, abruptly cutting off mid-sentence ('As an adult...'). Furthermore, the word count is only 201 words, which significantly misses the 250-word minimum requirement for Task 2. Because the task is truncated and underdeveloped, ideas are not fully explored or supported. According to the band descriptors, failing to meet the minimum length and leaving the response unfinished restricts the score severely, earning a band 4.0 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response chronologically, moving from childhood to adulthood. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'Furthermore' and 'Nevertheless', but their use is sometimes awkward or mechanically applied. Paragraphing is severely hindered because the essay cuts off prematurely after only two paragraphs, with the final paragraph left as a mere fragment ('As an adult'). Referencing and logical progression are difficult to evaluate fully due to the unfinished nature of the text, leading to a band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a basic and limited vocabulary range appropriate for simple communication ('vital role', 'natural process', 'academic achievements'). There are noticeable word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'change in an individual's behaviour by not only their habit' and 'a teenager life'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'thier' and 'gaurdians'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to express basic ideas, the frequent errors and restricted range place this firmly at band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'people's habit... plays vital role' and 'good habit are instructed'. Sentences often become tangled or unclear, for example: 'There are multiple stages that could lead this phenomenon, though I agree to this as it's a natural process of a human being.' Because the grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes impede clarity, the response meets the criteria for band 5.0.
