Student answer (Band 6.0)
Agree
Reason: 1. get more experienced, involvment in society
2. more understanding for what is right for them. intially shaped by parents
It is natural process that people may change their habits and opinions as they get older. Therefore, it is more common in society. I agree with this view and discuss the reasons behind this agreement. Meanwhile, I consider other side of this view.
The major reason is that individuals get more exposed to the society as they grow up. They have influenced by education which leads them to think critically. For example, in University education, students have to write the reflections throughout their course. The main purpose of these reflections is to aware the pupils about their pre-assumptions and compare it with their current knowledge. As a result, students analyze and realize the best for themselves which leads to adaptation of new habits or opinions.
The other reason could be the life experiences of individuals. Bad and good experiences of people may shape their thinking and habits in their later life. For example, a person who thinks drinking alcohol was okay, however, this habit destroyed his/her family. As a result, individual may changed his/her habit and opinion regarding being alcoholic.
In nutshell, changings habits and opinions is a sign of development of an individual. Their knowledge, education and experiences change their way of living and thinking about life. However, this change while growing up may impact the relations of an individuals where the opinions contradict with their family members or life partner.
