Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people believe that it is usually common among people to make changes in their habits and their opinions when they are getting older. while others do not agree this view.I partially agree with this view because changing habits and opinions require self realization and consistant efforts to bring trasformations.
The primary reason behind modifying the habits and opinions may be because of self realization through self-awareness. A person starts developing habits and opinions since early childhood. People develop habit of keeping things at their desired places after using them, procrastination, helping others in their work. Moreover, upbringing plays a crucial role in developing an individual's habits and opinions. For example, children develop habit of respecting and helping others from their parents or siblings. At the same time their opinions are also same as their parents as they do not how to reflect on things. As they start growing older, sometimes they realize that they need to change their bad habits or biased opinions which may results in taking a step towards changing them. However, changing the old habits into new habits are very challenging. The consistent efforts are required to eradicate them completely. For instance, a person engage is intoxication needs to struggle a lot to change the habit.
The another major reason is that changing habits and opinions in some people may be due change in the environment or circumstances. A person can feel the need of changing habits or opinions when experinces changes in the associations or circumstances around him or her. For example, a student who usually wakes up late in the morning can learn to wake up early when start staying in the hostel. Another example is that a person can become sincere if surrounded by all sincere people.
To conclude, although some habits and opinions can be changed easily at any age , some habits are almost difficult to change especially at the older age. In my opinion, the self awareness and open-mindness can contribute significantly while bringing the changes in the both at any age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The candidate addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing whether people change their habits and opinions as they get older, presenting a clear partial position. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as upbringing, hostel life, and overcoming bad habits like intoxication. However, there is a minor contradiction in the introduction where the student states 'while others do not agree this view' yet proceeds to state 'I partially agree', and the conclusion slightly drifts into discussing whether changes are difficult at an older age rather than focusing purely on the extent of agreement. Nevertheless, the main task requirements are met effectively, aligning with a Band 6.5 descriptor profile, rounded to 6.0 due to slight underdeveloped nuance in the stance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at logical organisation. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments, such as the role of self-awareness and changing environments. Cohesive devices are employed, including 'Moreover', 'For example', 'However', and 'To conclude'. However, some referencing and cohesive links are faulty or mechanical, such as 'The another major reason' (grammatical error in cohesion) and occasional abrupt transitions between sentences. Paragraph-internal progression is generally clear, though mechanical repetition of phrase structures ('changing habits and opinions') detracts slightly from smooth flow. This performance fits comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'self-realization', 'procrastination', 'upbringing', 'intoxication', and 'open-mindness'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'make changes in their habits' instead of 'change their habits', 'bring trasformations' (spelling error), 'develop habit' (missing article), and 'engages intoxication' (grammatical collocation error). These lexical errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the score to a solid Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses ('As they start growing older...', 'A person can feel the need...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors in article usage, prepositional phrases, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'changing habits and opinions require' (should be 'requires'), 'consistant efforts' (spelling), 'may results' (should be 'may result'), and 'bring the changes in the both'. Punctuation errors also occur, such as missing spaces after periods ('view.I partially'). Despite these errors, meaning is rarely obscured, representing a typical Band 6 grammatical profile.
