Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is believed by some that change is very common among older people whether its in their habits or opinions. I completely agree with this trend because with the growing age, they have responsibilities instead of leisure time for activities, and life experiences, knowledge by solving regular problems.
Responsibilities are most dominant reason for change in people's habits and opinions. In early age, they have free time for activities, but as they get old, they have to take responsibility of family. For example, an adult person have to do a full-time job to take care of their family financially by managing their regular expenses. If they have some time, they can not use it for themselves as they have to spend time with family, relatives, or friends, for kind of emotional support.
While the journey of reaching old age, people had gone through a lot of ups and downs, not only in their personal but also in professional lives. Knowledge, and life experiences gained by people provides help to change their habits such as punctuality, stay clam, and opinions about what's going around them and how to differentiate right or wrong pathways. Likewise, when a young ones start giving suggestions, they will only give by considering it is a question, but with growing age people got experience, as they use their both knowledge and experience logically.
In conclusion, I would like to reiterate my opinion that changes are common with the age growth either its in human habits or opinions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position on whether people change their habits and opinions as they get older, agreeing with the statement and providing supporting arguments. The ideas presented are generally relevant, focusing on shifting responsibilities and life experiences. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the discussion on responsibilities focuses heavily on full-time work and family obligations without expanding further into how opinions specifically shift. Similarly, the points regarding life experiences lack concrete, detailed personal examples, relying instead on broad generalizations. While the position is clear throughout, the support would benefit from deeper elaboration and more precise examples to fully meet the higher band descriptors. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, earning a solid band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped logically around distinct themes, such as responsibilities in the first body paragraph and life experiences in the second. However, the progression between sentences and ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or awkward referencing, such as 'While the journey of reaching old age' and 'when a young ones start giving suggestions'. Cohesive devices are used, but they can be repetitive or intrusive, such as the frequent reliance on 'they' and 'them' with ambiguous antecedents, making it occasionally difficult to track who is being referred to. Paragraphing is present and separates the main ideas, but internal cohesion requires smoother transitions and clearer logical links to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'dominant reason', 'financial', and 'differentiate'. However, there are notable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation throughout the text. Examples include 'with the growing age' instead of 'as people age', 'stay clam' instead of 'stay calm', and 'a young ones' instead of 'young people'. Additionally, phrases like 'knowledge by solving regular problems' and 'with the age growth' sound unnatural and reflect a translation-style approach. While these lexical errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to restrict the score to a band 5.5. Expanding vocabulary usage and focusing on accurate collocations will greatly enhance the quality of future writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional clauses and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in article usage ('an adult person have to', 'take responsibility of family'), subject-verb agreement ('an adult person have to do'), and prepositional phrases ('in early age' instead of 'at an early age'). Furthermore, awkward phrasing such as 'people had gone through' instead of 'people go through' or 'have gone through' disrupts the flow. Complex sentences are often attempted, but they frequently contain structural flaws that cause some difficulty for the reader. The frequency of these non-systematic errors places this performance firmly in the band 5.5 category.
