Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays the older people have a great contrast in their mood. It is a common thought that the people after hitting the old age have a great change in their thoughts and habits. I strongly believe that human mental state varies with the age so the thought and habits always change with every stage of life.
If we look at ourselves, it is evident that as we grow we got a great change in our opinions . As we experience more we gain more opinions and it varies with the age. Similarly the human change their habits with respect to the environment, experience and age.
When I was teenager I thought that being socialize is such a mess. I always avoid people and stayed at home . But as I grow older and hit my twenty-four I realized it is actually a great disaster not to communicate with people. So I change my opinion about people and now I have such a great social circle.
When we get older we gain more experience we became more thoughtful towards the life and always tried to change the habits running towards the perfection.
For example two years ago I used to stay out till late nights as I love to hangout with friends but now I prefer to sleep early as this is the best thing I can do with my health
It is clear that the human goes through different stages in life and change their
habits and opinions with respect to their experience , environment and personal reference

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear and consistent position in agreement with the prompt. The student supports their stance with relevant personal examples, such as changing their views on socialising and sleep habits as they grew older. While the ideas are relevant, some parts tend to be slightly repetitive, such as repeatedly stating that habits and opinions change with experience and age without introducing diverse perspectives. Overall, the main arguments are sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction. Ideas are generally logically sequenced, moving from a general statement to personal anecdotes. However, paragraphing is somewhat weak; the body of the essay is broken into too many short, fragmented paragraphs rather than cohesive, well-developed thematic blocks. Cohesive devices are occasionally used (e.g., 'Similarly', 'For example'), but referencing is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, leading to a score of 5.5 for this criterion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully attempting some less common items such as 'mental state', 'disaster', and 'thoughtful towards the life'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices, such as 'getting a great change' instead of undergoing a significant change, and 'being socialize' instead of socialising. Spelling is generally acceptable, but vocabulary limitations and occasional unnatural collocations cap the lexical resource score at 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'When I was teenager I thought that...'). However, the text contains a notable frequency of grammatical errors, particularly missing articles ('as teenager', 'hit old age'), tense inconsistencies ('as we grow we got'), and punctuation lapses. While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, they prevent the text from reaching a higher band, placing it firmly at a 5.0.
