Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is undeniable that the way people think and their habits can be cahnged, when they get older. I am totally agree with this notion.

It is acceptable that when people get in touch with society, friends or they join educational institues their opinions changed coincidingly. The first and formost reason behind is the power of words because, if someone share their bad habit with their companion or teacher they can get suitable solutions while communicating with them. For example, children loves sweet things to eat and it becomes their habit but it can be cahnged when they tought by their teacher with examples or visuals and they realize things when they get older by themselves.

Aditionally, it is common for people to change their habits and opinions as they oldler because with the help of social media. As youngers become able to use smartphones or social media they get sifficient knowledge about healthy eating, physical activities. For example, children who prefered to eat junk foods often become health consious while watching vidoes or blogs of health trainers. Therefore, by the age, both habits and thoughts of people get changed.

To conclude, along with the age, the power of education and social media that helps people to educate and realization of their bad habits and they thought they are carrying. It is prominent, without the educatiuon and communication nobody can change and it can hinder their personal and professional growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in agreement with the statement that habits and opinions change over time. The writer provides some relevant ideas, such as the influence of education and social media on personal development. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, relying on generalizations rather than deep elaboration. Furthermore, the length requirement of 250 words has not been met, as the response contains only 240 words, which has a negative impact on the overall task achievement score. To improve, the student should expand further on their main arguments and ensure the minimum word count is strictly observed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing a clear attempt at a conventional essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is occasionally hindered by faulty cohesion and awkward referencing. For instance, transitional phrases like 'The first and formost reason behind is...' and 'Aditionally' contain spelling errors and mechanical usage. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow of ideas in the body paragraphs is disrupted by grammatical slips and sudden shifts in examples. Overall, the arrangement provides a basic level of coherence, but cohesive devices are used inadequately or inaccurately at times.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words such as 'coincidingly', 'health consious', and 'prominent'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'cahnged' instead of changed, 'institues' instead of institutes, 'formost' instead of foremost, and 'educatiuon' instead of education. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they are frequent enough to restrict the lexical score to a band 5.0. To achieve a higher band, the student must improve spelling accuracy and use less common lexical items with greater precision and correct collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions. Examples of errors include 'I am totally agree', 'opinions changed coincidingly', 'if someone share... they can', and 'as they oldler'. Additionally, punctuation and sentence boundary issues occasionally appear. While the meaning is usually retrievable despite these errors, the high frequency of grammatical inaccuracies prevents the response from reaching a higher band level. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence structure editing will greatly benefit this score.
