Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is certainly true that habits and opinions change with growing age. I completely agree with the statement and disscuss the reasons behind this in the following paragraphs.
Firstly, expriences of life is the most compelling reason behind this change. This is because as people grow older, they learn from their past experiences and avoid making mistakes that they have made when young. For example, young people offen don't like waking up early, while elders do. The reason behind this is that they understand the value of time. To utilize time wisely they prefer to wake up early and origanize their day accordingly.
Secondly, with age, level of patience and claimness increase. Which not only make them think deeply, but also brings a stability in their lives. Since they are at an age where materilastic things hold less value, therefore, they prefer to live simply. Thus, they do not show much interest in hobbies like parting, going out or buying expensive brands. Apart from that youngstars offten don't care about international affairs, however after a certain age people start thinking critically. For example, during covid-19 where young people were exploring on social media, elders were listen news and reading articles about how the disease will effect the society, what can reduce the effests ecetra. Which futhur explains the change in their view points.
To conclude, it is understanble that as people get older, due to their past experiences, clainmess and patiences developed over time, their way of thinking get affected along with a change in their day to day habits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response clearly addresses all parts of the task by taking a firm position that habits and opinions change with age, supporting this view with relevant explanations and examples. The main ideas regarding life experiences, patience, and changing worldviews are clearly presented. However, the development of ideas leans towards generalisation and could be extended further with more detailed personal or specific examples. For instance, the example contrasting young people and elders regarding waking up early is clear, but further elaboration would elevate the depth of the task response. Overall, the writer successfully covers the requirements of the prompt, earning a solid Band 6.5, which aligns with addressing all parts with relevant ideas that are somewhat under-developed in places.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to divide distinct ideas, such as life experiences in the second paragraph and psychological shifts in the third. Cohesive devices are employed to link arguments, using markers like 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'To conclude.' However, some referencing is not always clear, and certain cohesive transitions feel a bit mechanical. For instance, the sentence starting with 'Which not only make them think deeply...' has a fragmented structure that disrupts the logical flow between sentences. Overall, the organizational structure is clear enough to secure a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'compelling reason,' 'materialistic,' and 'critically.' However, there are several noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'disscuss' instead of discuss, 'expriences' instead of experiences, 'offen' instead of often, 'origanize' instead of organize, 'claimness' instead of calmness, 'materilastic' instead of materialistic, 'youngstars' instead of youngsters, and 'ecetra' instead of etcetera. These lexical errors and inaccuracies prevent the vocabulary score from reaching a higher band, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5 due to errors that occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over multi-clause structures such as 'This is because as people grow older, they learn from their past experiences and avoid making mistakes...' However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'growing age,' 'expriences of life is,' 'level of patience and claimness increase,' and 'where young people were exploring on social media, elders were listen news.' Subject-verb agreement issues and tense inconsistencies are also apparent. Despite these flaws, the meaning is generally communicated without total breakdown, fitting the Band 5.5 descriptor where a mix of structures is attempted alongside frequent errors.
