Student answer (Band 5.5)
Growing and changing with the trend is the new normal. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that people adjust their mindsets, opinions and routines very rapidly with this fast growing world. I strongly believe that changing helps an individual to cope up with the society and be confident and independent. However changing the opinions can be challenging on the same time as it could lead to hardships and adjustment.
Firstly, the concept of changing with the needs is really helpful from an individual point of view as it leads them to be aware about the current trends. Neverthless, this new generation is little more advance in terms of technology it becomes very important for the previous generation people to learn to how to use technology and make a change in their habits as this will lead them to be a confident individual and be an active member of the society.
On the other hand changing can be really hard but a wonderful experience too. Getting older and relaying on the old roots can be challenging to make ones place in this fast growing world. For example: I still remember the time when my grandmother find it really very difficult to adjust with the dog as a pet at our home, but slowly when she got friendly with him she started enjoying his presences and even started taking care of hime and going for walks even.
In the conclusion, changing is the part of the life and so do aging , growing and changing ones opinion is really beneficial in various ways and challenging on the same time. Changing opinions and habits with time helps one to understand the new trends and cope with the society. Whereas on the other Changing comes from inside and can be challenging from individual point of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt directly, presenting a clear position that people do indeed change their habits and opinions as they get older, and supports this view with relevant explanations and a personal example. The introduction clearly states the writer's belief that changing helps individuals cope with society, and the body paragraphs elaborate on why adapting to trends and technology is beneficial. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat general and lacks deeper extension. For instance, the discussion around technology touches on older generations but does not fully explore the psychological or sociological implications of changing opinions over time. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed adequately, placing this comfortably in the band 6 range.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as the benefits of adapting to trends versus the challenges involved. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, using markers like 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In the conclusion'. However, some referencing and cohesive links are mechanical or awkward, such as 'However changing the opinions can be challenging on the same time', and 'Whereas on the other Changing comes from inside'. These minor awkward transitions and occasional repetition of ideas indicate a band 6 level in coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'cope up with the society', 'active member of the society', and 'fast growing world'. However, there are notable lexical errors and unnatural collocations throughout the text, including 'relaying on the old roots' (relying on old roots), 'adjust with the dog' (adjust to), and 'presences' instead of presence. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'Neverthless' and 'hime'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas clearly, the frequency of word choice inaccuracies prevents the response from achieving a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over multi-clause sentences, such as 'I strongly believe that changing helps an individual to cope up with the society and be confident and independent.' However, grammatical errors and punctuation slips are frequent throughout the response. Examples include preposition errors like 'challenging on the same time' instead of 'at the same time', subject-verb agreement issues such as 'when my grandmother find it', and awkward phrasing like 'and going for walks even.' While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, they disrupt the flow and prevent the grammar score from reaching band 6.
