Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is a human nature to change their routine and beliefs with changing time and age. I totally agree to this notion. Stating that,I will explain my opinion with suitable reasons and examples in the upcoming paragraphs.
To start with, it is rightly said that nobody can think or act same as they used to think in their childhood. As we grow older, our preferences and choices change because of our maturity level as well changing needs with time. Sometimes a person feels that he can always follow the set guidelines in order to be a successful person in life, but life has always unpredictable turns.
Coming to various examples, when we are kids, we have infinite dreams about our future. For instance, during childhood we are attracted to a vast number of professions according to our habits and likings and that keeps on changing with time. In addition, youngsters have their own choices because in that age group, people have different energy such as going out with friends and having fun and trusting everyone blindly. However, with passing time, we change these habits of going out and making new friends every now and then.We get busy in building our future strong and succesfull keeping social life limited.
Moreover, we have different opinions when we are young. A case in point is that, teenagers think that life will be much easier when they will have their desired jobs and houses. Everything can be put in their plates so easily. But, when they step into the real world, their viewpoints change and they then realise that life is not a fairytail that they used to imagine. Similarly, some parents have very strong opinions about raising their children. With time, they have to change their perspecives as they cannot bound their kids according to their thinking in modern world. So, they have to change their thinking in order to give their children a beautiful childhood.
To conclude, no man can ever restrict himself in same habits and opinions which he had two or three years ago. It is a matter of fact that with changing time, we have to change ourselves. Otherwise, we cannot evolve as a better human being and cannot contribute anything positive to our future generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response fully addresses all parts of the prompt, exploring both how people change their habits and opinions as they get older. The writer takes a clear and consistent position ('I totally agree to this notion') and supports it with relevant arguments and examples throughout the essay. Ideas are extended well, such as contrasting childhood dreams with adult realities and discussing how parenting perspectives shift in the modern world. While some examples are somewhat general, they are entirely appropriate for a General Training Task 2 response and fulfill the task requirements successfully, earning a solid Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression from the introduction through body paragraphs to the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each body paragraph focusing on a distinct sub-theme (habits in childhood versus adulthood, and changing opinions). Cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'For instance', 'In addition', and 'To conclude' are employed to guide the reader, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical ('Coming to various examples'). Referencing is generally clear, contributing to an overall coherent flow that meets the Band 7 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate and sufficient range of vocabulary for the task. There are successful attempts to use less common items and collocations, such as 'maturity level', 'unpredictable turns', 'infinite dreams', and 'perspectives'. However, there are occasional word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'It is a human nature' (missing article), 'act same' (missing 'the'), and spelling errors like 'succesfull' and 'fairytail'. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary allows the message to be communicated clearly, aligning well with a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating decent control over grammar. Examples of complex structures include 'As we grow older, our preferences and choices change...' and '...when they will have their desired jobs and houses.' However, there are noticeable grammatical errors throughout, such as tense shifts ('when they will have' instead of 'when they have') and minor prepositions issues ('at that age group' instead of 'in'). Punctuation has occasional minor flaws, such as missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'Stating that,I'). These errors do not impede communication, placing the writing firmly in Band 6.0.
