Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, the discussion about peoples viewpoint and their habits change when they age has become a topic of intense disclosure. I strongly believe that this statement and provide reasons for supporting this side.

On the one hand, people responsibilities will increase along with their aging because of their family, work and other circumstances. The main reason is that they have to change their opinion becuase of their family responsibilities. For an instance, in most scenarios, older people cannot stand or form strong decisions because of their health or family conditions. As a result they cannot stand on their own points because of the lesser confidence. So, they have to understand the situation and agree to the best option regarding to situation.

In addition to that, their routines will change because of their aging. As people getting older they encounter new health issues and cannot concentrate on multiple tasks. Although they want to continue their old lifestyle, they can't do that by certain dependencies. They need more medical attention compared with when they are young. Moreover, family dependency and the more responsibilities will add with the growing age. So, because of these reasons most of the people's opinion and their daily activities can alter when they get old.

In conclusion, Although it is not mandatory for all people to alter their points and daily activities, but most of the people change their viewpoint and opinion depending on the situation because of the dependencies. So it is common for people to adjust or change thier tasks or opinions according to the situation especially whey they get older.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether people change their habits and opinions as they age, taking a clear position in the introduction ("I strongly believe that this statement and provide reasons for supporting this side"). The ideas presented are relevant, focusing on how increased responsibilities and health issues impact opinions and routines. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive, with several sentences circling back to the same points about responsibilities and dependencies without extending the arguments further. Examples are somewhat generalised rather than specific (e.g., mentioning "family conditions" rather than a concrete scenario). Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing this response at Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a standard four-paragraph structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Logical progression is visible, as the writer moves from family responsibilities in the first body paragraph to health issues and routines in the second. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like "On the one hand," are used without a corresponding "On the other hand," and referencing is occasionally unclear. Furthermore, paragraphing is somewhat repetitive in its phrasing. This level of organisation aligns with a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as "contemporary era," "circumstances," and "dependencies." However, there are noticeable word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, such as "peoples viewpoint" instead of "people's viewpoints," "disclosure" instead of "discourse," "becuase" instead of "because," and "thier" instead of "their." While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5, as the control over less common vocabulary is inconsistent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination using words like "although," "because," and "as." However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as "peoples viewpoint and their habits change when they age has become" (subject-verb agreement/structural flaw), "For an instance" (incorrect article usage), and "family dependency and the more responsibilities will add with the growing age" (awkward passive/active voice usage). Punctuation errors are also present, such as missing commas in introductory clauses. These issues place the grammatical performance at Band 5.5.
