Student answer (Band 5.5)

As we get older, we changes our habbits and opinions, thats the part of life, one should must transcend in every phase of life, habits and opinions changes as our level of understaning of problems changes. As we grow old we become more mature to realise problems and their solutions. In fact, I agree with the notion for couple of reasons.

One of the reason why I agree is because the maturity of a person changes with the changes of their resposibilities as we grow old we have to take the accountibility of our actions, for example when we were young in our primary school we used to play a lot and there was a lack of concentration which may had affected our grades, while studing we can get another chances but if we compare same in real grown up world our every mistakes has the repercussions so our habbits need to be change.

Another reason is Self awerness, recognizing our own patterns and opinions helps one to get better exposure of their own personality, for example In our school days we ate a lot of junk foods which is not good for health, but as we grow old we become more cautious about our health and than amount of Junk food intake reduced automatically. that self assessment of our own pattern is neccssary and that only comes with the time,

To Conclude, not only people changes their habbits and opinions but also changes themselves in a completely different version, one can never find that 17 year old boy in 37 year old man. With the experiences getting from the transcendant opinion and habits changes. Therefore it is very common for people changes their habits and opinions as they get old.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating a position agreeing with the notion that people change their habits and opinions as they age. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the influence of maturity and responsibilities on behavior, and self-awareness regarding health choices like reducing junk food intake. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the paragraph regarding responsibilities relies on a somewhat rushed school-versus-adult-world comparison without deeper elaboration. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend and support all main arguments with more thorough explanations and fully realized examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement, with a clear introduction stating the writer's stance, two distinct body paragraphs exploring separate reasons, and a concluding paragraph. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. The writer relies heavily on comma splices to link clauses, such as in the opening sentence where multiple independent clauses are joined improperly without appropriate conjunctions or full stops. Referencing and transitional phrasing can also be improved; phrases like "Another reason is Self awerness" introduce ideas abruptly without smooth progression. To achieve higher bands, the writer must ensure logical transitions between sentences and paragraphs are handled more naturally and accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less-common items such as "transcend," "accountibility," "repercussions," and "self-assessment." However, there are noticeable spelling and word-form inaccuracies that detract from the writing, including "habbits" instead of habits, "understaning" instead of understanding, "resposibilities," "awerness," "neccssary," and "transcendant." Word choices are occasionally awkward or imprecise, such as "amount of Junk food intake reduced automatically" rather than a more natural phrasing. These lexical errors and spelling slips do not severely impede communication, but they prevent the vocabulary score from rising further.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and attempts at complex structures that are frequently marred by punctuation and grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with run-on sentences and comma splices, as seen in "As we get older, we changes our habbits and opinions, thats the part of life, one should must transcend..." Subject-verb agreement errors are also present, such as "we changes" and "opinions changes." Furthermore, modal verbs are misused in structures like "one should must transcend." These frequent errors in grammar, agreement, and punctuation require careful revision, though meaning is still generally conveyed.
