Student answer (Band 5.5)
Habits plays a very crucial role in daily life. As people reach the late stage of their life , it is very commonly seen that their habits and opinions has change according to their experiences. I am strongly agree with this statement which i want to describe in further paragraphs.
To begain with, I believe that as people get older their opinions can change because of there knowledge and experience towards life. For instance, in their younger age they may be beleived that relationships are not as much as important for the life but when they grow older they come to know that loved one is as vital as other task of life.
Moreover, young people are is very active because of their physical strength and have strong mental health . However, older people can not able to do their reguler routine even because of their health issues. They become more vulnerable and emotionaly dependent on their love ones for example, son, doughter, wife and so on. That is why their habits changes as time goes on .
Furthermore, most of older people loss their ability to learn the things as the result of their congnitive impairment. Because of it they become more anxious and get irritate easily. In addition, their opinion can change in both positive or negative manner , it is totally depend upon their way of thinking and how they see and lived theri life. Such as , if their journey of life is not good they could not able to see any positivity towards life. On the other hand, if they lived theri life and acheive their goals they would be very happy in older stage.
In conclusion, I would say habits and opinion has change as the people get older becoause of their experiences , thinking and success that they achieved in their younger age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position on whether people change their habits and opinions as they get older. The introduction clearly states agreement with the prompt. Relevant ideas are presented, such as how aging alters opinions through accumulated experience and how physical health decline shifts habits and emotional dependence. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for example, the body paragraphs touch on relationships, physical strength, and cognitive impairment in a somewhat generalized manner without deep exploration. To reach a higher level, the writer would need to extend and support these ideas with more specific explanations and consistent development throughout all body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance maintained throughout. The response is divided into logical paragraphs with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. While transitional markers like 'To begain with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used to structure the text, referencing and logical progression occasionally falter. For instance, some sentences within the body paragraphs lack smooth connections, and referencing pronouns like 'it' or 'they' are not always entirely clear in context. To improve, the writer needs to employ a wider range of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure seamless logical links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing enough range to communicate the basic ideas about aging, habits, and changing opinions. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'cognitive impairment' and 'vulnerable', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, including 'begain', 'beleived', 'doughter', 'reguler', and 'congnitive'. These inaccuracies do not entirely impede communication, but they cause some difficulty for the reader. To move to the next level, the student needs to expand their lexical repertoire and use less common items with greater precision and control over spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional clauses and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Habits plays', 'opinions has change', 'I am strongly agree'), incorrect article usage, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns. Some complex structures are faulty, such as 'older people can not able to do' and 'they could not able to see'. While communication is rarely completely impeded, these errors persist throughout the text. To achieve a higher band, the writer must demonstrate better control over basic and complex grammatical structures, reducing errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and agreement.
