Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowdays, i can see people change both their habits and opinion as they get older. I would like to say that some of the people will agree on this point and some of them desagree. But on my point of view it is depend on the perception and opinion.

To begain with, some people change their habits and opinion there is several reasons so they updat their self. Firstly, that is very common which is time. During the time older people change their thinking because they want to always step forward. They want to adapt a new thing such as technology, skills, and ability. Humans always change their habits the reason is they want to gain new habits, in case that habits is not relevant fo present time so that is really good to chnage their habits. Furthermore, people want to understand the younger people opinion, so withound update their lifestyle they will not understand the view of young generation. Specially older people between younger people have generation gap so they want to remove this gap, while they trying to change their opinion .

Some will not chnag their opinion and habits, They want to stay with their tradtion or culture and habits, which is also good. Majority of people are change now they are not talking or living with traditional values. For example, now people are so depend on vehicals which is good, but now people are not walked so that thing is impact on their health and young people will learn this things. people should change but they should not remove old values that is very unique and special.

Overall, it is always depend on the sitatution and point of view if they are set with their habits and opinion they cna keep with them otherwise always move further according to time and adapt the reality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the topic and give relevant reasons for change, including adapting to technology and trying to understand younger generations. You also acknowledge that some people retain traditional habits and values, and the example about vehicle use and walking adds a practical point. However, your position is not consistently clear: the opening says people may agree or disagree, while the conclusion says it depends on the situation, without clearly stating whether you agree overall. Several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for example, how changing habits helps older people “step forward” is not made specific. State your degree of agreement directly, then develop two reasons with clearer explanations or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Firstly,” and “Furthermore” help signal the development of ideas, and the contrast between people who change and those who preserve traditions is relevant. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined without clear relationships. The first body paragraph moves from time to technology, new habits and the generation gap, but does not explain how these points connect. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, and references such as “that thing” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use more precise links between explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “generation gap,” “traditional values,” “adapt,” and “lifestyle,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “change,” “habits,” and “opinion.” There are also frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices, such as “desagree,” “vehicals,” and “depend on the perception,” which can make the reader pause or infer your meaning. Some combinations are unnatural, including “update their self” and “remove old values.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing change and tradition, and check spelling and collocations carefully during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “so,” and “while,” and the overall message is usually understandable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “it is depend on” should be “it depends on,” while “there is several reasons” needs “there are several reasons.” The sentence beginning “To begin with, some people change…” is also difficult to parse because its clauses are not connected accurately. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and a comma splice before “but.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns before extending them with subordinate clauses.
