Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often argued that people tend to change their habits and opinions as they grow older. I strongly agree with this view because people gain mor elife experience, take new responsibilities and influenced by changes in their circumstances.
Out of all the arguments, one of the main reasons why people change their habits is that their responsibilities usully increase with age. When people are young, they may spend a considerable amount of time socialising, travelling, enjoy their entertaintment. However, as they become older, they often have to focus of careers, families and health. That is to say, their priorities gradually change according to their cicumstances. For example, young person may regularly eat fast food and wake up late because they have fewer responsibilities, whereas after getting married and having children, they may start eating healthier food and following a more regular healthy routine. In addition, people may become more health concious compare to their childhood because they know the importance of healthy life.
On the other hand, people's opinions can also change because they gain knowledge and experience throughtout their lives. When individuals are young, they often advised by parents, teachers and friends. As they become older, they meet different kind of people and face several challenges that change their views about lives. For instance, someone who believed that working long hours was the best way to achieve success might chnage their opinion after getting stress and spending less time with family. They may eventually believe that maintaing a helathy work-life balance is equally important. Moreover, after getting education and life-long experience about work, their opinions changes because of vast difference between right and wrong.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that both habits and opinions commonly changes as people get older. Although some people personality may remain same, greater responsilities, life experiences and knowledge can significantly change the way people live and think.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and is maintained in the conclusion. You address both habits and opinions, giving relevant reasons for each: increased responsibilities can alter routines, while knowledge and experience can reshape beliefs. The examples about changing eating habits after having children and reconsidering long working hours help explain these points. This is a well-focused response with ideas extended and supported. To strengthen it further, develop the final point about education and “the vast difference between right and wrong,” which is currently broad and unclear, and avoid generalising about what people believe or do without qualification. More precise explanation of how experience changes opinions would make the support consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on habits and opinions, and a conclusion. The progression from reasons to examples is easy to follow, and signposts such as “For example,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This organisation supports a logical development throughout. Some linking is a little mechanical, however, and “Out of all the arguments” does not introduce the first reason very naturally. The final sentence of the opinions paragraph also feels loosely connected to the preceding example. Use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas, and make references such as “their views about lives” more specific so the reader can follow the argument without pausing.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “responsibilities,” “priorities,” “circumstances,” “challenges,” and “work-life balance.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some phrases show an attempt to be precise. However, spelling and word-choice errors occur in items such as “entertaintment,” “cicumstances,” “concious,” and “maintaning.” There are also awkward or inaccurate combinations, including “focus of careers” and “healthy life.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases; for example, use “focus on their careers” and “a healthy lifestyle.” This would make your vocabulary more controlled and idiomatic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “whereas,” and “after.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the examples are generally expressed in complete sentences. Some grammatical errors nevertheless appear across the response. For instance, “people gain more life experience, take new responsibilities and influenced” lacks a parallel verb form; “a young person may” needs an article; and “people’s opinions changes” has subject–verb disagreement. There are also errors in patterns such as “focus of careers” and “they often advised by parents,” where the preposition or passive construction is not controlled. Review verb agreement, parallel structures, articles, and passive forms, then proofread each sentence for these patterns.
