Student answer (Band 6.5)
A considerable number of individuals believe that it is now common that habits and opinions have changed with age. It has seen that, most of the times some of the activities people like to do in their young age have stopped doing in their later age of life. Before concluding my opinion, this essay will analyze why people's habits and opinions have changed with time.
There are a number of activites that individuals opt when they are young but with the passage of time they have stopped doing it or lose interest in those activities. For instance, my uncle used to play circket in his teenage and very interested in watching circket. Even he has never missed any circket match in his life. But now he barely watch circket or talk about it. One of the reasons can be lose in interest or finding other activities more attracted. However, sometimes change in a habit is also because of priorities. To illustrate, when I was in my twenties, I was a night owl and whenever I have the holidays, I watched movies every night and slept late. But now after becoming a mother and looking after the house and children, regardless of whatever the day of the week is I prefer to sleep early at night and awake early in the morning.
As far as the opinions are concerned, ideas are kept evolving throughout one's life. As the life goes on, a number of individuals learned from their experiences and past mistakes. Whatever they have gone through in life plays a crucial role in changing their opinions. For instance, my sister had a large number of friends, she easily trusted everyone but with some bad experiences she learned that not everyone is wroth trusting and one should not trust every person they met in their lives; in addition, now she believes in quality over quantity.
From my perspective, it is common for people to change with time. Sometimes change happened because of lack of interest and change in priorities while sometimes because of the things they have experienced in life. This is all because a person become wiser with age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your response addresses both habits and opinions and maintains a clear position: you agree that people commonly change as they age. The examples about your uncle’s interest in cricket, your changed sleep routine after becoming a mother, and your sister’s trust in others make the discussion relevant and personal. You also explain plausible causes, including changing priorities and learning from experience. This fits the task well, though some explanations remain broad—for example, the uncle’s change is attributed to “lose in interest” or other activities without exploring why his interests shifted. To strengthen the response further, develop the reasoning behind each example and connect it more explicitly to how age, rather than circumstances alone, prompts change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction, a paragraph on habits, a paragraph on opinions, and a concluding statement that restates your view. Examples are generally placed beside the ideas they support, and transitions such as “For instance,” “To illustrate,” and “As far as the opinions are concerned” help guide the reader. The conclusion also brings together the main causes discussed. At times, however, linking feels formulaic, and the opening sentence “Before concluding my opinion, this essay will analyze…” is an awkward signpost rather than a natural development of the argument. Some references, such as “it” in “stopped doing it,” are not fully clear. Use more direct topic sentences and vary transitions while ensuring pronouns clearly refer to the intended idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss habits, priorities, experience, and changing beliefs, including phrases such as “plays a crucial role” and “quality over quantity.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural. Examples include “activites,” “circket,” “wroth trusting,” “lose in interest,” and “finding other activities more attracted.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “young age” and “later age of life.” These issues limit the precision and control of your vocabulary, even though your meaning is usually recoverable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn common combinations such as “lose interest in,” “more appealing,” and “trustworthy.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “when,” “but,” and “because,” and most of your ideas remain understandable. However, errors in tense, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur repeatedly. For example, “It has seen that” needs a passive construction such as “It can be seen that,” while “my uncle… barely watch” requires subject–verb agreement. In “a number of individuals learned,” the tense does not fit the general point, and “a person become wiser” also needs agreement. The opening sentence is difficult to control grammatically, and several long sentences would benefit from clearer clause boundaries. Practise consistent tense choices and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
