Student answer (Band 5.5)
Changing habits as people get older is common. I also agree with the statement. I will discuss some genuine factors that supports it is very obvious that elders' lifestyles start differ when they reach at certain age.
The top notch fact is that when individuals grow older. It not only comes with grey hairs and loose skin, but also some diseases grow in their bodies. such as, dementia, knee problem , diabetes, and weak eyesight and so on heath issues. To curb these kinds of serious health issues, they also have to get treatments or take medicines. Every coin has two face, as medicines also have some side effects and some ristricts on their eating habits. Due to all of this, their lifestyle changed from what it was before. If they do not eat or do whatever they want, it affects their mental health. As a consequence of this, they will not be remain same.
Another very common reason, according to me, is that they retired from their work. It is also affect their lifestyle, because now they not meet their friends at their workplace. As a result they have no more option to set their things according to the schedule as they used to for many years, like it changed their eating and sleeping. A study also shown that 60 percent of older people face mental health issues after retiring from the workplace; it not only changes their lifestyle but also affects their mental health because at home they feel isolated.
In conclusion, I can say it is a totally genuine fact when masses get older their opions and living style are changed as above mentioned effects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the opening (“I also agree”), and you give two relevant reasons: health changes and retirement. These points show an understanding of the topic, but the response only partly addresses the question because it focuses mainly on changes to lifestyle and does not explain how people’s opinions may change as they age. The health paragraph lists conditions and restrictions, while the retirement paragraph mentions isolation, but both ideas need clearer explanation and more specific support. The reference to a study is not developed or linked to a concrete example. To strengthen the response, discuss habits and opinions separately, explain why each changes, and support the points with a relevant personal or general example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different reasons, and a conclusion. The sequence from health-related changes to retirement is logical, and connectors such as “As a result” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Every coin has two face” does not clearly connect the discussion of medication to the next point, and “As a consequence of this” has an uncertain reference. The opening sentence of the first body paragraph is also left as a fragment, interrupting the flow. Make each paragraph’s main point explicit, use linking phrases only when their relationship is clear, and connect the conclusion more directly to both parts of the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “dementia,” “side effects,” “retired,” and “isolated,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “Every coin has two face.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “top notch fact,” “some ristricts on their eating habits,” and “their lifestyles start differ.” Spelling errors such as “heath,” “opions,” and “ristricts” also reduce precision. Aim for straightforward, accurate academic phrasing rather than idioms you are unsure about, and check spelling and common word combinations. More precise vocabulary for changes in beliefs and routines would also help address the full topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure (“If they do not eat or do whatever they want…”) and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “As a result.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “factors that supports,” “when individuals grow older” used as a sentence fragment, “It is also affect their lifestyle,” and “they will not be remain same.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “Every coin has two face” and the lower-case “such as” after a full stop. Practise complete sentence construction and check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles before adding more complex clauses.
