Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is often argue that individuals change habits when they are getting older. From my perspective,i agree with this context when individuals getting older they change their habits and ideas frequently.Sometime same opinion has since they are young age.

to begin with, each people have different habits and own opions at any ages. as a example teenagers more urge with mobile divices at the present where old people tend to read news papers to relax their minds. other instance youngers has simple opinion instead that they have expertise ideas when they are getting older. However, some childhood habits can be continue until they die.I had quite habit when i was at age 19 that watching cartoons at 5pm.At the present i prefer that to watch daily news at 7pm.

however, while people getting very older their habits will significantly change.as a example people at their nineteen like to drink soft drinks such as faluda , milkshake however when they are getting older to age sixyth they prefer tea or coffee.at same situation youngers have simple opinion at newyear festivals even they have serious ideas at after age fortyth .While getting older people mindset clearly turns serious instead of their childhood.

in conclusion, i believe individuals has different habits even than their young age.however this will never change the person originally they born.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that people change as they age, and you include relevant examples, such as your shift from watching cartoons to watching the news and older adults choosing tea or coffee. However, the response only partly develops the question: the discussion of habits is more concrete than the discussion of opinions, which is mostly asserted through broad comparisons between young and older people. The final claim that ageing “will never change the person originally they born” also complicates your position without explaining how it fits your agreement. The response is 219 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. Develop both habits and opinions with specific reasons and examples, and clarify your concluding point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the examples generally relate to the topic. However, progression is uneven: the paragraphs move between habits and opinions without consistently developing one point before introducing another. Linking expressions such as “to begin with,” “however” and “as a example” are repeated or used awkwardly, and the contrast between your agreement and the final statement is not resolved. Some references are also unclear, as in “same opinion has since they are young age.” To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main idea, connect each example explicitly to that idea, and use fewer, more precise transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “habits,” “opinions,” “childhood” and “mindset,” and examples such as “soft drinks” and “daily news” help communicate your meaning. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand, including “more urge with mobile divices,” “quite habit” and “serious ideas.” Spelling and word forms are also inconsistent, for example “opions,” “youngers” and “sixyth.” Aim to learn natural phrases for describing age-related changes and opinions, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your comparisons clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using contrast and time clauses, as in “while people getting very older their habits will significantly change.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “each people have,” “when individuals getting older,” and “people mindset clearly turns.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with sentences beginning in lowercase and missing spaces after full stops. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with “when,” “while” and “although,” then check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
