Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, it is really common amongst the people to change their habits and their opinions as they get older. However, there could be so many reasons associated with this notion which is discussed below with the explaination in the coming paragraphs. I totally agree with this trend.
To begin with, the significant reason behind this is that, it helps them for their overall development and they can take a better decision in their life. For this reason, it is necessary for them to change their daily habits and opinions in their life. For example, My cousin is capable to take any decision in his life and we found that as he grow older, he changed his habits and opinions.
Furthermore, the another considerable reason is that, it keeps their brain active, sharp and enhnace their cognitive skills. Human beings are keep changing their habit and opinion and they found it is an important tool for their brain to think differently. To illustrate, according to the scientist in the year 2025, they found it is comman for people to change their habits and opinions as they get older. It creates positive impact on their brain for its overall development.
To conclude, I firmly believe that, this is mainly for their overall development and better decision making skills. The other one is to keep their brain sharp and active. For this reason, everyone should have to change their habits and opinions according to their age. It is one of the most comman thing amongst the younger generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: “I totally agree,” and the response stays focused on why people may change as they age. You give two relevant reasons—personal development and keeping the brain active—and include examples. However, both explanations remain general, and the cousin example does not show a specific change or explain how it led to a better decision. The reference to scientists in 2025 is also vague and unsupported, so it does little to develop the point. The conclusion repeats the reasons rather than extending them. The response is 246 words, four words below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a concrete, clearly explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the cousin example does not clearly demonstrate the preceding claim, and the sentence about scientists does not explain how the cited finding supports the point. Linking phrases are also used mechanically, and repeated references to “overall development” and changing habits and opinions make the argument feel repetitive. Improve cohesion by making each example directly illustrate its reason, using clear references to the people or ideas discussed, and varying transitions rather than relying mainly on formulaic paragraph openers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cognitive skills,” “decision making,” and “active,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “helps them for their overall development” and “the another considerable reason” are not natural expressions, while “comman” and “exhnace” contain spelling errors. Repeated use of “change,” “habits,” “opinions,” and “overall development” also limits precision. Aim to use accurate topic-related phrases and check spelling; for instance, describe how people “adapt their routines” or “revise their views” as they gain experience, rather than repeating the same wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, such as “For this reason, it is necessary for them to change their daily habits and opinions,” but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “as he grow older” instead of “as he grows older,” “Human beings are keep changing” instead of “Human beings keep changing,” and “they can take a better decision” instead of “they can make a better decision.” There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “the another considerable reason,” and punctuation is often awkward, particularly commas before “that.” These errors sometimes make the intended relationships harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and build longer sentences only when you can control their structure.
