Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the question and give a qualified position: habits and opinions can change, although some are difficult to alter. The example of the college student changing his priorities after his father’s heart attack is relevant and gives a clear reason for change. However, the response develops habits more fully than opinions, and the claim that awareness can change beliefs is not supported with a specific example. The drug-addiction point usefully acknowledges resistance to change, but it is brief and does not explain why this habit is difficult to quit. To strengthen the response, make your degree of agreement explicit in the introduction and develop both sides with more balanced, specific support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining how change can happen, a contrasting point, and a conclusion. The example also follows a broadly logical sequence from the father’s illness to the student’s changed priorities. However, the second paragraph contains several ideas in one long sentence, making the progression difficult to follow. Connectors such as “Apart from that” and “On the other hand” signal relationships, but some links are mechanical or do not clearly connect the ideas. References such as “that incident” are understandable, though the conclusion repeats the main point rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer sentence boundaries and organise each paragraph around one main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to discuss habits, beliefs, and personal change, including phrases such as “major incident,” “take care of,” and “not easy to quit.” Some attempts at more specific expression are useful, but word choice and spelling are often inaccurate, which makes parts of the account less natural. Examples include “orthodox opinions” for beliefs that are difficult to change, “thinking differently” in the student example, and “seroiulsy.” There is also repetition of “change,” “habit,” and “person.” Build a more precise range of collocations and check spelling; this would make your meaning clearer and reduce the effort required from the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect example and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences, and errors sometimes make relationships between events unclear. For example, “activities is performed” has an agreement problem, while “he have to take care” and “he start” use incorrect verb forms. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “after getting awareness on that certain topic which changes…” and the run-on account of the student’s day. Practise keeping each sentence focused, maintaining consistent past tense in examples, and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
