Student answer (Band 5.5)
For many inviduals, getting older, giving different views and seeing themselves doing unusual things are unacceptable facts. However, that is very common for humans when they become mature. In this essay, I will discuss why it is very normal with relevant examples.
To begin with, change is not only part of life but also the way of keeping our minds and bodies engaged while experiancing different stage of our life. For an example, one cannot win child's heart by giving them a luxury perfume or car. Likewise, adults cannot be convinced with toys and candies. Moreover, humas tend to change their habits for their conveniences and to become better persons. For instance, kids will do their best to win races or contests as it is important for them and it helps them to turn into a better adult. Same way, aged person will likely develop more interest in the activities that do not require physical strength like reading compare to hiking.
In contrast, humans cannot develop a whole new character or can develop new ideology completely. As we talk about opinions, it can change to certain extent as people get new experiences with other people on their work places or in their relationships. New advancement in technology and science can also affect their ideas but cannot change their nature psycologically. For an example, older ladies will keep supproting arrange marriges in south-asian countries while playing games on their phone. They are developed as human beings but mentally they keep live in the same era they have lived before.
In conclusion, it is very normal for people to affect by old age and start developing new habits but I am strongly agree on the fact that one will likely remain same adult mentally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is broadly clear: you agree that habits and opinions can change with age, while arguing that a person’s underlying character or ideology may remain stable. The examples about children’s interests, older people choosing less physical activities, and South Asian women supporting arranged marriages are relevant to this discussion. However, the response addresses the two parts of the question unevenly. Habit changes receive several examples, whereas the discussion of changing opinions is less fully explained, and the final claim that people remain mentally the same is not reconciled with your opening agreement. Develop the distinction between changing opinions and retaining core values, and explain how each example supports your position more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects of the issue, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad progression. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “In contrast” suggests a direct opposition, but the second paragraph mainly qualifies the first by distinguishing opinions from character. The conclusion also shifts to the claim that people remain mentally the same without clearly linking this to the earlier discussion. Some references, such as “they” in the example about older ladies, could be more precise. Use transitions that express the actual relationship between ideas and make the central distinction explicit throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “convinced,” “experiences,” “advancement,” and “ideology,” and attempt phrases such as “physical strength” and “develop more interest.” However, the range is limited in places, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the meaning less natural: “giving different views,” “for their conveniences,” and “remain same adult mentally” are difficult to interpret smoothly. Spelling errors such as “inviduals,” “experiancing,” and “supproting” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing personal development, habits, and beliefs, and check spelling carefully. Prefer familiar, accurate expressions over ambitious wording that does not fit the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “while,” “as,” and “but,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless affect clarity. For example, “one cannot win child's heart” needs an article and a plural or possessive construction, while “I am strongly agree” uses an incorrect verb form. In “people to affect by old age,” the passive structure is incomplete, and “one will likely remain same adult mentally” is missing necessary grammatical elements. Work on articles, verb patterns, and sentence construction, especially in the conclusion. Proofreading each sentence for a complete subject–verb structure and correct verb form would make your ideas easier to follow.
