Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that when people are getting old their opinions and habits are changing. I completely agree with this view because it would be beneficial to match the thinking with the youngsters.

The primary reason why I support changing the behaviour according to age is beneficial that it would be helpful for them to enjoy thier life.Everyone doing a hard work in thier young times so that they can enjoy thier life when they get old so, if they are not changing their way of thinking then how would they adopt the present facilites. Moreover with the experience everbody learns the new life lessons and they just changed with the experience. For instance, everybody has a high energy level in their earlier age as they are getting old they got more experince

Another important reason is that if the parnets wants to live with their children then they had to change thier habits. The youngsters has their own thinking because they just brought up in the modern era as compared to thier parents then obviously they have modern way of living and this is the generation gap. Otherwise their opinions will not match with each other and it will make conflicts between them

In conclusion, I strongly agree that it is common to change their habits and thier opinion as they get older. It would be helpful for everyone to enjoy thier life and live with thier children.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you completely agree that people’s habits and opinions change as they age, and you give two relevant reasons—gaining life experience and adapting to adult children’s lifestyles. However, the ideas are only partly developed. The point about enjoying life is difficult to follow, and the example about energy levels ends without explaining how it supports your argument. The discussion of generation gaps is relevant but would benefit from a specific example or clearer explanation of how opinions change. The response is also 11 words below the required minimum, so it needs further development as well as a little more length. Explain each reason fully and support it with a concrete example to address the task more completely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the main line of argument reasonably easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Another important reason,” and “In conclusion.” However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, the long sentence beginning “Everyone doing a hard work” moves from working when young to adopting present facilities without clearly showing the relationship. The first body paragraph also ends abruptly, which weakens progression. Use clearer sentence boundaries and make each paragraph develop one reason in a logical sequence, with a direct link between the example and your claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general argument, including “experience,” “generation gap,” “opinions,” and “habits.” Some phrases also show an attempt to express more specific ideas, such as “modern way of living.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less clear. Examples include “match the thinking with the youngsters,” “present facilites,” and repeated misspellings of “their” and “experience.” “Doing a hard work” is also not a natural expression in English. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing ageing, adaptation, and family relationships, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your reasons without relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional question (“if they are not changing their way of thinking then how would they adopt…”) and a sentence explaining the generation gap. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “The youngsters has their own thinking” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “as they are getting old they got more experience” shifts tense inconsistently. The opening sentence also uses an awkward tense construction, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise accurate agreement, tense consistency, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, correctly punctuated sentences would make your reasoning clearer while you develop control of longer structures.
