Student answer (Band 5.5)

Thesedays, this is very common among individuals to change their viewpoints as well as habits while they grew older.I believe this depends on their nature, situation and the people with whom they are surrounded with.I would say I side with this opinion .There are lot of reason which leads this situation.

The first and foremost one is adulthood.A person mindset change as their age increase. For example, when a person hit certain age of life when they get maturity while dealing with situation or people they got affected by.In this materialistic world nobody care about anyone .The thing they care about is money .They only go to people who have money and populartity so,they can use them.At the end, when individual realizes the whole scenario their mind reach that level ,they cannot trust person in their whole life.Resultantly, they start cutting off people from their life which make completely different perspective of a person.

Secondly, a person looses somebody whole plays important role in their life .For example,I have seen a girl from my relatives she lost her parents at young age.She donot expect anything from others in her life .She never share her thoughts with other people either she have learnt how to live by herself or she became that strong from mind which made her fearless from every situation come in her life.As a result, when a human experience these situation they loose dependency on everyone which make changes in thier behaviour and viewpoints.

Conclusion,It varies person to person however, these are circumstances when human transforms their thoughts and daily life routine accordingly the situations are explained in previous paragraphs such as adolscence and loosing loved ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is broadly clear: you agree that people’s habits and viewpoints can change with age, and you give two relevant causes—greater maturity and losing someone important. The examples, especially the account of your relative’s friend, help connect the ideas to real experience. However, the response does not fully explain how habits change, despite this being part of the question; most of the discussion focuses on trust, independence and viewpoints. Some claims, such as “nobody care about anyone,” are very broad, and the first example’s link between money, trust and changing habits could be explained more carefully. Develop each cause with a clearer explanation of both opinions and behaviour to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “The first and foremost one” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Resultantly” introduces a consequence, but the preceding explanation about money and popularity does not clearly show how it leads to cutting people off. The second example also moves quickly from bereavement to independence and fearlessness. The conclusion repeats the causes rather than drawing them together, and “these are circumstances” has an unclear reference. Use more explicit links between each cause and the resulting change, and make references precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “viewpoints,” “maturity,” “dependency” and “perspective,” and these choices help communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts less natural or occasionally difficult to interpret. Examples include “a person mindset,” “hit certain age,” “looses somebody” and “fearless from every situation.” There are also repeated general terms such as “person,” “situation” and “change.” Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms; for example, describe someone as becoming “more independent” rather than “loosing dependency,” and use “lose” for the verb, not “loose.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “when” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to follow the point. For example, “A person mindset change as their age increase” needs possessive and agreement forms, while “she donot expect” and “she never share” have incorrect verb forms. The sentence beginning “For example, when a person hit…” also becomes difficult to manage as clauses accumulate. Practise building accurate shorter sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement and punctuation when editing.
