Student answer (Band 6.0)

People's way of living and thinking often changes with time as they grow older. I, personally, completely agree with this. This essay will explore the reasons and examples to support the aforementioned statement.

People change their habits over a certain age to focus on their physical health. Most elderly humans consciously cosume only healthier meals and workout regularly to encourage better digestion and overall health, whereas, younger ones try to explore various food items even if they are junk. For instance, a recent survey at New York City has concluded that, majority of the city's old population prefer going to healthier restaurants to lunch on and community centres for recreational activities instead of partying in clubs like the younger ones.

Poeple experience more as they grow in age and that creates an impact on their opinions as well. When humans meet different types of people, they learn and understand a variety of viewpoints. As they continuously learn and gain more knowledge from their surroundings, their opinions about things changes overtime. For example, in the latest interview by India Today, an old described video games as a waste of time but h

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you “completely agree,” and you give relevant reasons about health habits and changing opinions through experience. The examples about older adults choosing healthier activities and learning from different viewpoints help address both parts of the topic. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the first example is a broad survey claim, while the second example is cut off (“but h”), so it does not show how the interview supports your point. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving the argument and examples incomplete. Develop each reason with a complete, specific example and explain how it demonstrates change over time.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: the introduction states your view, followed by one paragraph on habits and another on opinions. Linking expressions such as “whereas,” “For instance,” and “For example” make the relationship between claims and examples easy to follow. However, the progression is limited because each body paragraph gives only a brief explanation, and the final example ends abruptly, leaving the second point unfinished. Some transitions, including “This essay will explore,” feel formulaic rather than helping develop the argument. To strengthen cohesion, complete the final example, add a concluding paragraph that restates your position, and use references such as “this experience” to connect evidence explicitly to the claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “physical health,” “recreational activities,” “viewpoints,” and “surroundings.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt more formal phrasing such as “consciously” and “overall health.” Some word choices and collocations are less natural, however: “over a certain age” is vague, “workout regularly” is awkward in this sentence, and “lunch on” does not fit the intended meaning. There are also spelling errors, including “cosume” and “Poeple,” which reduce accuracy but do not prevent understanding. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “as they age,” “exercise regularly,” and “eat lunch at.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause with “whereas” and a conditional-style time clause beginning “When humans meet different types of people.” Most sentences remain understandable, and errors rarely obstruct the main message. Some grammatical inaccuracies are present: “their opinions about things changes” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “a recent survey at New York City has concluded that, majority” has problems with the article and punctuation. The final sentence is incomplete, so its structure cannot be fully understood. Review agreement with plural subjects, article use, and comma placement, and ensure every sentence is complete before submitting.
