Student answer (Band 5.5)

Changing individual's habits and opinions are the most common things while aging. I totally agree on the given statement and the my understanding will be mentioned in the following paragraphs with appropriate examples.

To start, the main factors are the responsibility and expectations. Every human, who lives in the society, He/she has the multiple expectations responsibilities such as performing better in school, getting better job, respect individuals, getting married and so on. Each and every expectations from the society have directly affected the habits. For example, watching or playing cartoons shows, these things are the most common for the children, whereas as the teenager turns in their 20's , they have to match the society expectations in terms of getting better education and getting jobs. Under the expectation of society, they have to change the habits and let it go the old habits.

On the other side, the opinion that human forms by their parents and by their elders, if they do not have their own understanding of the world. For instance, following any traditional ritual, if that person didn't get parents, who understands the reason behind it, that individual just choose blindly following their parents. However, after roaming around the world they understand the real meaning of the life and eventually change their perspective on their life. As it is well know fact that travelling makes human wise. It certainly has potential to change or form new opinions in their lives.

In conclusion, in human lives, I totally agree on the fact that habits and opinions are changed due to society expectations and opinions changed from the traveling different countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I totally agree,” and the conclusion returns to that view. Both body paragraphs offer relevant reasons—social responsibilities can alter habits, while travel and new understanding can change opinions—and you include examples such as children’s cartoons and traditional rituals. This addresses the question, but the two parts are not developed equally: the habits paragraph gives a clearer life-stage example, whereas the opinions paragraph’s link between lacking parental guidance, following rituals, and travelling is difficult to follow. Some claims, such as society’s expectations affecting “every human,” are broad. To strengthen the response, explain each example more precisely and show how it demonstrates change with age, rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To start,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “On the other side” suggests a contrast, although the second paragraph adds another reason; “For instance” then introduces an example whose relationship to the preceding point is not fully explained. References such as “they” and “that individual” also leave it unclear who is being discussed at times. Use transitions that reflect the actual relationship between ideas, and make each paragraph progress through a clear claim, explanation, and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “responsibility,” “expectations,” “traditional ritual,” “perspective,” and “society.” These choices allow you to discuss both social influences and changing views. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise expressions, including “change the habits,” “expectations from the society,” and “the real meaning of the life.” Several combinations sound unnatural, and “roaming around the world” does not precisely express the idea of gaining experience through travel. Aim to use more accurate collocations and vary repeated words such as “change” and “expectations.” More precise phrasing would make your reasoning easier to understand and give the argument a more natural academic tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “whereas,” “if,” and “after,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “Every human, who lives in the society, He/she has” combines incompatible sentence structures, while “Each and every expectations … have” has a number-agreement problem. The opening phrase “Changing individual's habits and opinions are” also has an unclear grammatical construction. Commas and spacing are inconsistent, particularly around introductory phrases. Practise building a clear subject–verb structure first, then add subordinate clauses; check articles, singular/plural forms, and punctuation when editing.
