Student answer (Band 5.5)

Individuals change their habits and opinions as much as they get older. I particially agree with this notion. let us dicuss both the point of views in the subsequent paragraphs with relevant examples.

To begin with, people's habits and opinions stay remain during the time. First and foremost, if some people have anger issue, it will never change during time. To explain, As individual have habit since birth or chilhood, it will never change according to the age and no one can help them to change their permanent habbit. To cite an example, a survey conducted by students of Delhi university on 500 old people in which more than half had anger issue and they concluded that because they had habbitiual from this habit since 50 years, they did not change this nature or behavior.

On the other hand, citizens can change their opinions according to situation and time. Primarily, in this modern era most of the people are agree for women' rights. To Elaborate, now-a-days women not only have rights of education but aslo they can do job and business. It change according to time and some polices are held by authorities. To example, a search was held by students of Oxford university in US in 2020, it was declared that 45% of memebers of city changes their opinions in the rights of women due to change in time and development of country.

To conclude, Although some habits are permanet for people that they can not change it by time and enviroment, they can change their mind and opinions durings time and life. In my opinions few habits are not change able but individuals can develop their opinions by time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a qualified position: some habits remain stable, while opinions can change. The examples about anger and changing views on women’s rights are relevant, and the conclusion restates your overall view. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The claim that an anger habit “will never change” is too absolute and is not explained beyond the survey example; similarly, the link between social development and changing opinions could be made clearer. To strengthen the response, explain why age or life experience leads to stability or change, and develop each example so it directly supports your position rather than relying mainly on broad claims. This would make your reasoning more fully supported and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main direction. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the sentence about policies follows the point about women’s rights without explaining how those policies affect opinions. The opening also promises to discuss both viewpoints, while the final position is only partly established there. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between claims, and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main idea. Clearer referencing and progression within paragraphs would make the organisation more fluent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “opinions,” “habits,” “women’s rights,” and “development,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “To elaborate” and “To cite an example.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate wording, including “change according to time,” “permanent habbit,” and “members of city changes their opinions.” Several spelling errors, such as “particially,” “chilhood,” and “enviroment,” also reduce precision. Aim for natural collocations and accurate word forms rather than adding formal-sounding phrases. For instance, describe opinions as “evolving over time” and habits as “deeply ingrained.” This would make your meaning clearer and give your vocabulary more flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses, as in “if some people have anger issue, it will never change” and “Although some habits are permanet…”. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and control recur. Examples include “people’s habits and opinions stay remain,” “most of the people are agree,” and “It change according to time”; these involve verb choice, agreement, or sentence formation. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “let us dicuss” and “To Elaborate.” Work on forming accurate subject–verb patterns and checking each sentence for a complete, correctly structured clause. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied sentence attempts easier to follow.
