Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern time, we can often observe that people change their habits and opinions as they are getting older. I totally agree with the statements and there are plenty of reason behind that and I would like to discuss in details in upcoming paragharps.

Firstly, there are plethora of habits which people have in their earlier age, which might be over talkcative with everyone or like to attent each social event in their society. This is because, when people are young then they would like to connect more friends or family. However, after some decade they find everthing meaningless or worse. As a result, they change their routine and wants just couple of people in their daily life. For Example, as people have habits to live with more people for enjoyments or having fun with them, after some points of life they need a peace in their life and that is why they change their habits and started living along to get peace.

Futhermore, people change their opinions so easily in everday life. The reason behind this is lack of experience in their life and they think that they have enough knowledge on everthing. In fact, after facing that any particular scenario in thier life they change their toune. For Instance, when anyone doing preparation for any exam such as IELTS or any common test at school, while obseving that guy working hard to get desired score other person who did not attemp that exam even one time just commenting that this exam is so easy to score high grades. At the end, when same guy try to pass through that exam and find its hard to score even passing grades then they change thier opinion so easily.

In conclusion, I personally believed that changing habits over time and giving opinions on everthings is most common.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both habits and opinions, giving relevant explanations and examples: socialising less as people age, and revising an opinion about an exam after experiencing it. These points respond to the question, but they are not equally developed. The habits example is somewhat general, and the exam example focuses on one situation rather than explaining more broadly how age or accumulated experience changes opinions. The conclusion also repeats the main view without drawing the reasons together. To strengthen the response, explain the link between ageing and each change more precisely, and extend the examples with specific details about how a person’s priorities or judgement develop.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on habits and opinions, and a conclusion. The sequence within each body paragraph is generally understandable, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, some connections feel mechanical, and several sentences are difficult to track because references are unclear—for example, “when same guy try to pass through that exam” leaves the relationship between the people in the example uncertain. The first body paragraph also moves from socialising to wanting peace without a fully explicit explanation of the transition. Use clearer references and connect each example directly to its main claim; vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “habits,” “opinions,” “experience,” “routine,” and “desired score,” so the main ideas are usually understandable. There are also attempts at less common or more specific expressions, such as “particular scenario” and “accumulated” ideas about experience, but word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “over talkcative,” “attent each social event,” “find everything meaningless,” and “change their toune.” Spelling errors such as “paragharps,” “Futhermore,” and “thier” also reduce precision. Build a reliable range of natural phrases for describing changing priorities and revising beliefs, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More accurate wording would make your examples clearer and more persuasive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “after,” and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “they change their routine and wants” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they change their habits and started living” shifts tense within the same idea. In “when people are young then they would like,” the tense and clause structure are awkward, and “I personally believed” does not maintain the appropriate present-tense form. Practise keeping tense consistent within examples and checking that each subject matches its verb. Breaking some long sentences into clearer units would also improve control without limiting your range.
