Student answer (Band 6.0)
We learn new things from our environment. This learning process continues throughout our lives, and we change our habits and opinions as we get older. I agree with this statement, and in this essay I will explain the reasons.
Education is a major reason for change in our lives. Through the formal or informal education system, we learn new things wchich change our opinions and help us improve our habits. For instance, in my childhood, it was a common opinion that a cow is caring our earth and when she moves, it causes an earthquake, which changed when I learned about the solar system in my science class. Through education, I changed my opinion about earth.
Practical experience is another cause of changing our habits. It is also a learning process, but in phisical world. It become a permanent habit what we learnt through this practical experience. In our childhood it was told by our parents that never drink cold water after a hot meal, but I nerver listen to them. One day I drank cold water after my lunch and was unable to speak for three days. After this practical experience, I changed my habit of drinking cold water after any meal.
People also change their opinions about certain things in their life through new scientific dicoveries. My grandmother told us that their an old lady living on the moon for hundred or years and she is making the clouds. However, she changed her opinion when I showed her a video produced by NASA about the moon. I also told her that when man landed on moon there was nothing except dust. Through this scientific advencement lot of people changed their old beliefs.
In conclusion, it is a positive sign of our life, if we change our habits and opinions in a positive way when we learn new things thought our life. When we get old, we need to change our habits to survive in a fast chaning world, otherwise, we will left alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction and remains consistent: you agree that habits and opinions change with age. You address both kinds of change and support your view with relevant examples, including your changed belief about earthquakes and your grandmother’s belief about the moon. The examples make the response personal and help extend the main points. The discussion of education and practical experience is especially clear, while the final point about scientific discoveries partly overlaps with the education example and could be developed more distinctly. Some claims, such as needing to change habits to avoid being “left alone,” are broad and would benefit from explanation. More precise development of each reason would strengthen the response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Topic sentences such as “Education is a major reason” and “Practical experience is another cause” make the progression easy to follow, and examples generally appear in the relevant paragraphs. Linking phrases including “For instance,” “After this practical experience,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This organisation is effective, though some connections are mechanical, and the third body paragraph repeats the education/scientific-learning idea rather than clearly advancing a separate line of reasoning. A few references, such as “It” in “It become a permanent habit,” are not fully clear. Use more varied transitions and make links between claims and examples more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas and include some topic-relevant expressions, such as “formal or informal education,” “practical experience,” and “scientific discoveries.” However, the range is limited in places, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less natural. For example, “a cow is caring our earth” and “scientific advencement” do not express the intended ideas clearly, while “fast chaning world” contains a spelling error. There are also repeated uses of “change” and “learn,” which could be replaced with more precise alternatives. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your examples clearer and give your vocabulary more flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “when,” and “after,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors occur across sentence structures and verb forms, and some complex attempts are faulty. For example, “It become a permanent habit what we learnt” has problems with tense and clause construction, while “otherwise, we will left alone” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “In our childhood it was told by our parents” also has an awkward passive construction. Articles and sentence punctuation need attention as well. Practise forming accurate subordinate clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms; greater control would make the argument easier to read.
