Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is quite ubiquitous for folks to alter their routine and their viewpoints with the time. I strongly agree with this statement. This easy will discuss the causes behind it along with relavent examples.

There are are numerious reasons of it. To start with, knowledge is one of the most widespread factor. As individuals get old they gain know-how which broden their horizon of knowledge and they apply that information their every day life to inprove it. For instance, when i was a child i liked to get up late in the morning but after the time i learned that getting up early in the morning can largely effect my mood for the whole day and it feels quite energetic by getting up before sunrise. Apart from this, they aquire change to remain heart and healthy. Growing older cause people feel feeble, therefore to remain active and strong, they aquire health conscious lifestyle such as eatinf salads, walking and running everyday, and joining gym. For example, my mother in low joined gym last month because she felt that her knees are getting feeble and excersing is lending her a helping hand to stay fit.

Similarly, individuals' views evolve with time too and it is due to spending big chunk of life meeting new people everyday. Mostly people who work/study or travel meet fresh faces each day and they deal with multiple type of personalities that can be compeletly different from them. They learn bunch of things from them which eventually transform their way of thinking. To illustrate, when I was in india, I used to think that cooking must be done by females only, but when four years ago i moved to Canada for my higher studies, I learnt that cooking is a basic serviving skill that everybody should know and it is not a gender specific role whereas in india it is told that it is only wemen's duity to prepare food for the family.

To conclude, it is indeed true that with time people gain knowledge and get mature that changes their routine and perspective.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both habits and opinions, giving relevant reasons for each: learning from experience is linked to changes in routines, while meeting people with different backgrounds is linked to changing views. The personal examples about getting up early, your mother-in-law exercising, and your experience of cooking expectations in India and Canada make the response specific and support your argument. To strengthen the response further, explain more precisely how age itself prompts these changes, rather than relying mainly on gaining knowledge or encountering new people. Some claims, such as people becoming health-conscious as they grow older, would also benefit from a little more qualification.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, the first body paragraph discusses habits, the second focuses on opinions, and the conclusion restates the main point. Signposting such as “To start with,” “Apart from this,” “Similarly,” and “To illustrate” helps readers follow the argument, and the examples are generally placed beside the ideas they support. The paragraph division is appropriate and the central line of reasoning is easy to understand. To make the organisation more polished, avoid formulaic transitions and connect some ideas more directly. For example, the shift from knowledge to health-conscious habits could be explained as a further way routines change with age, rather than introduced as a separate point without a clear link.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “viewpoints,” “perspective,” “personalities,” and “gender specific role,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing awkward. Examples include “This easy will discuss,” “gain know-how which broden their horizon,” “aquire change to remain heart and healthy,” and “lending her a helping hand.” Several spellings, such as “relavent,” “numerious,” and “compeletly,” also reduce precision. Aim for natural, accurate combinations rather than unusually formal or translated-sounding expressions. More consistent control of everyday academic vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “As,” “because,” and “when,” and you attempt to explain causes and examples in connected sentences. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation, so control is not yet consistent. Examples include “There are are,” “one of the most widespread factor,” “As individuals get old,” and “Growing older cause people feel feeble.” The long sentence beginning “Mostly people who work/study or travel” also needs clearer grammatical structure. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “cause,” and sentence boundaries. For instance, “Growing older can make people feel weaker” is a clearer structure that preserves your meaning.
