Student answer (Band 6.0)

Change is the law of nature. It is often argued that habits and opinions of individuals transform with age. I completely agree with this statement. This happens because of increase experiences and knowledge. This essay will discuss all possible reason why this happens.

To begin with, there are various contributors resulting change in behaviours and views of people. One of the most significant reason is improvement in knowledge. When people get access to education and technology they start learning about meaning and logic behind their day-to-day tasks. Another considerable reason is life experiences. When youngsters grow-up they travel to different cities and countires for study or work, which gives them a chance to explore and learn new things. As a result, their lifestyle and thinking change over time.

Furthermore, newtworking is one other major reason which change people gradually. When people grow-up, they tend to meet knew people whether it is their workplace or college. These are the places where individuals interact with different personalities regularly. Over a period of time workers and studends start adapting habits and opinions of people around them. It can be their boss, customer, colleauge, classmate, and a friend. For example, when I was 15 years old. I used to hate brushing my teeth, and my parents often used to insist me. However, when I starting going to school my teacher told me importance of personal hygeine.. After that I started brushing my teeth daily. Therefore, small incidents and interactions often impose change on our personalities and behaviours.

To conclude with, transformation in habits and mindset is mainly a caused by improvement in knowledge, experiences and public interaction, which leave an impact on humans.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I completely agree,” and the essay gives relevant reasons, including education, life experience and interaction with other people. The personal example about learning to brush your teeth also helps illustrate how another person can influence a habit. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally: the education and travel points are stated broadly, with little explanation of how they change particular opinions or habits. The conclusion summarises the causes rather than reinforcing your view about change as people age. To strengthen the response, explain each reason through a specific cause-and-effect link and include an example of an opinion changing as well as a habit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Its ideas generally progress from knowledge and experience to social influence, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help the reader follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For example, “newtworking is one other major reason” introduces social influence, but the paragraph then shifts quickly from workplaces and college to a personal childhood example. The conclusion is brief and does not fully draw the strands together. Use clearer transitions between general claims and examples, and organise each body paragraph around one main reason, followed by explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “life experiences,” “personalities,” “interact” and “adapting,” which allows you to discuss learning and social influence. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “significant reason” and “transformation in habits and mindset.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less smooth: “increase experiences,” “contributors resulting change,” “newtworking,” and “impose change” are examples. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “public interaction.” Aim for natural combinations of words and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “increased experience,” “factors that lead to changes,” and “social interaction” to express these ideas more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and time clauses such as “When people get access to education…” and “When youngsters grow-up…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries recur. Examples include “One of the most significant reason,” “which change people,” and “when I starting going to school.” The sentence “For example, when I was 15 years old.” is a fragment, while the following sentence begins a new example without a smooth grammatical connection. Review subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and combine dependent clauses with their main clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
