Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, Changing habits when get older has become increasingly common. Some people believe that changing old habits can be easy because of experiences. I disagree that old generation cannot able to change their habits and their opinions beacuse of society and convenience.

On major reason is that changing habits is difficult because of convenience. For instance, old age citizen love to read newspapers and use to get up early in the morning before sunrise. These are the habit they had developed since their childhood, which was the only way of entertainment for them. As a result, it would be challenging for them even they are not well they follow these rotuine and hope we youngester also follow the same.

One more important prospect is that older people have their strong methology toward their religious and culture this is because of socities.

For example, it is a old cultural mindest that girl family should give gifts to all members of boy families those come in wedding. This the trend which still people following so their cultural value will stay longer. Furthermore, carry veil by daugther in law but somehow in some family this become optional.

In conclusion I disagree that it is common for old generation to change their habits and their opinions because of convenience and society. Therefore they dont need proof to understand these are irrelevant and not feasible for older one to change their myth according to their maturity level it become more strong.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

Your position is stated in the introduction and conclusion: you disagree that older people commonly change their habits and opinions. You also give two relevant areas—daily routines and cultural or religious beliefs—and include examples such as reading newspapers and wedding customs. However, the response does not fully address the wording of the question: it refers to people changing as they age, but your argument shifts to whether older people can change, and the opening briefly mentions the opposite view without explaining it. The examples are not developed enough to show clearly why habits or opinions remain unchanged. The response is also 2 words below the required minimum. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific example linked directly to your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate daily habits from cultural practices, and signposts such as “For instance,” “One more important prospect” and “In conclusion” help indicate the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from newspapers and early rising to entertainment, illness and younger people without clearly connecting these points. The second paragraph also combines cultural beliefs, wedding gifts and veiling without explaining their relationship. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive. Organise each paragraph around one clear reason, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, using references that make clear who or what each sentence concerns.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “convenience,” “cultural value,” “religious” and “optional,” and the examples show an effort to discuss both routines and traditions. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unclear word choices make parts of the argument difficult to understand, such as “strong methology toward their religious and culture” and “change their myth.” Spelling errors, including “beacuse,” “rotuine” and “daugther,” also reduce clarity. Some phrases appear to be direct translations rather than natural English collocations. Build a more precise set of expressions for habits and beliefs, and check spelling and word forms. For example, describe a “long-standing belief” or a “daily routine” rather than relying on unclear wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including a relative clause in “These are the habit they had developed since their childhood” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences hard to follow. Examples include “when get older,” “old generation cannot able to change,” and “it is a old cultural mindset,” where verb forms, sentence construction and articles are not controlled. Agreement and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “These are the habit.” The final sentence contains several ideas joined without clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; check articles, plurals and verb forms during revision.
