Student answer (Band 5.5)
As people grow older, their habits and opinion change. I agree with this view age plays very important role in changing peoples way of living and thinking. Many people develope new habit and change their opinion as they get older.
Firstly, people often change their habits. I believe people become more responsible and indipendent as they get older. They change their routine, likes and dislikes. When they are young they may spend more time playing games, watching television and eat unhealthy food. whi They start taking care of their health follows healthy lifestyles. For example, adult may sleep late and mostly eat junk food while older people prefer sleep early, regular exercise and eat healthy food.
Secoundly, older people gain more experience from past life. They understand diffrent situations better because their thinking become more mature. They may change their opinions toward relationships, jobs, money and careers. For example, young people think that earning more money is important while experienced old people always want to work in good enviroment, they choose save money for future rather than spending on unusual parties or clothes. Although, old people pay more attantion on family need and their resposibilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that people’s habits and opinions change with age, and you give relevant reasons about responsibility, health, experience and priorities. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both main points are brief and supported by broad generalisations rather than developed explanation or specific personal examples. For instance, the contrast between young people valuing money and older people preferring a good work environment is introduced but not explained in detail. The conclusion is also missing, so the argument does not feel complete. In addition, the response is 56 words below the required minimum. Develop each reason with a fuller explanation and a concrete example, then add a short concluding statement that restates your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction is followed by two body paragraphs, signposted with “Firstly” and “Secoundly.” This makes the main stages easy to identify. Within the paragraphs, however, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “When they are young” shifts abruptly into “whi,” and the following ideas about health are not joined smoothly. The final sentence, beginning “Although,” is also left as a fragment and does not clearly connect to the preceding example. Use complete sentences and clearer links between cause, contrast and example. A brief conclusion would also give the response a more finished progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a relevant range of everyday vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “responsible,” “independent,” “routine,” “mature” and “responsibilities.” These choices help communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “develope,” “diffrent,” “enviroment” and “attantion.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “from past life,” “work in good enviroment” and “unusual parties.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is usually recoverable. Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and use a few precise phrases to explain changing priorities rather than repeating general terms such as “older people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and contrasts between younger and older people. However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. For example, “I agree with this view age plays very important role” needs a linking structure and an article, while “Although, old people pay more attention…” is an incomplete clause. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “their thinking become” and “prefer sleep early.” These problems can make some sentences difficult to follow. Practise joining ideas with accurate conjunctions, checking subject–verb agreement, and ensuring every sentence has a complete main clause.
