Student answer (Band 5.0)

As people reached at the certain or we can say after 60, where people become more mature and they have seen lots of ups and downs in their life. Some people change and some not its totally depend on their situation. However, I believe its very tuff to change our habits when become older.

To begin with, a human's behavior shows its character and it starts building up from a very young age and when a person become mature that turns into its personality. Therefore, after becoming old it is obvious that people can't change, the routines and practics which they are following from a very long time becomes their part of life. For instance, I always facinated by my grandmother, she daily follows a specific pattern in her everyday, like waking at the same time, always do oiling before bathing and her food habits. As, these things looks very simple but are totally unavoidable.

Furthermore, sometimes its difficult to change suddently because their body has adapted to this and therefore changes can effect problems in the health. If suppose someone is doing excercise from a very long time and following strict diet and sleeps at a particular time everday. But, all of a sudden it entirely changed and then, the body starts reacting adversely. Therefore, it becaomes ncessary keep the goods habits with us always. Although, some argue that changes are necessary and we should bring some changes into our life and we sholud not restrict to anything thats brings more happiness.

In conclusion, changing our character is difficult

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position that habits are difficult to change with age, and the grandmother example gives this view a personal, relevant illustration. However, the prompt asks about both habits and opinions, while your response focuses almost entirely on habits and character; opinions are not meaningfully discussed. Your position is also not fully consistent: you say some people change depending on their situation, then argue that older people cannot change, and the conclusion only says changing character is difficult. The point about health effects is relevant but hypothetical and not clearly connected to changing opinions. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement clearly and develop a reason and example for each part of the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are grouped broadly by reason. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal this structure. However, progression is uneven: the second body paragraph moves from difficulty adapting physically to the value of keeping good habits, then briefly introduces an opposing view without explaining or resolving it. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “Therefore” repeated across paragraphs and “Although” introducing an incomplete contrast. The conclusion is too brief to bring the main points together. Organise each paragraph around one clear claim, explain its connection to the position, and use references and transitions that make the relationship between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mature,” “routines,” “personality,” “strict diet” and “adapted,” and the grandmother example allows you to describe everyday habits. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning less clear, such as “change our habits when become older,” “practics,” and “bring some changes into our life.” Spelling errors such as “facinated,” “suddently” and “becaomes” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, distinguish between changing a routine and changing an opinion, and use natural combinations such as “established habits” or “adapt to a new routine.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and “therefore,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “Some people change and some not its totally depend on their situation,” where clauses run together and the verb form is incorrect, and “the routines … becomes their part of life,” which has an agreement error. There are also missing subjects or articles in “when become older” and “it becaomes ncessary keep.” Use complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and punctuate clauses clearly. Practising accurate sentence patterns before adding more complex linking will improve control.
