Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You take a relevant position by saying that changes in opinions and habits are common, and you introduce plausible causes, including life experiences and socialising. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not clearly explain whether you agree or disagree, and the reasons are introduced but not developed with examples or explanation. The essay also ends mid-sentence after “who may influence them and,” so there is no conclusion or completed argument. The response is 125 words short of the required minimum, which leaves too little space to address both habits and opinions fully. State your position directly, develop each reason with a specific example, and finish with a conclusion that restates your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: an opening paragraph introduces the topic, and the next paragraph begins to present reasons. Connectors such as “The first reason” and “Secondly” signal the intended sequence. However, there is no clear overall progression because the second paragraph stops abruptly, and the essay has no concluding paragraph. The opening also promises to “delve into reasons” without clearly setting out your position. Some linking is mechanical, and the final “and” leaves the relationship between ideas unfinished. To improve, use a clear structure of introduction, developed body paragraphs, and conclusion; make each paragraph complete and use linking phrases to show how examples support your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “lasting impact,” “viewpoints,” and “influence,” and the reader can generally understand the ideas. There is also an effort to vary expression rather than repeat only basic words. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “undoubtely,” “indespensible,” and “nummber.” Some phrases are unnatural or unclear, including “alerting thinking process” and “the change in opinions and habits is visible.” Choose more natural collocations, for example “shape people’s thinking” and “changes in opinions and habits become apparent.” Proofread spelling carefully and select vocabulary that expresses the intended meaning precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms. For example, the opening sentence uses a time-related clause, and the next sentence lists several possible influences. However, errors in sentence structure and verb forms are frequent enough to make parts difficult to follow. In “viewpoints of the people get change,” the verb construction is incorrect; “which leave a lasting impact” also has an agreement problem, and the sentence beginning “The first reason is with growing age” is awkwardly formed. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “and.” Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and check that each sentence has a clear main clause and appropriate punctuation.
