Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear position—“Personally, I disagree”—and begin to give a relevant reason: familiar routines can become a “comfort zone.” The newspaper-and-tea example also helps illustrate resistance to changing a habit. However, the response addresses the question only partially: it gives little explanation of how opinions may or may not change, and the second reason, “age gap to accept new changes,” is left undeveloped. There is no concluding statement or developed overall argument. The response is also 113 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to explain and support your ideas. Develop both habits and opinions with specific reasons and examples, then summarise your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph giving one reason, and the start of another point. Linking expressions such as “For example” and “Another reason” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the overall progression is incomplete: the final paragraph stops after introducing “age gap,” and there is no conclusion to bring the argument together. Some transitions, including “Commencing with,” sound formulaic and do not clearly connect the ideas. The sentence beginning “The most significant one” also becomes difficult to follow because several explanations are joined together. Use a clear topic sentence for each reason, explain it in a separate sequence, and finish with a conclusion that restates your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “materialistic era,” “development,” “perception,” and “comfort zone,” and the reader can generally identify your main point. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “sheds lights,” “ample of reasons,” and “do changes.” Spelling errors—including “intergral,” “habitiual,” and “readind”—also make the writing less clear and polished. Aim for natural, precise phrases rather than formal-sounding expressions that do not fit the context. For example, use “offers several reasons” instead of “sheds lights,” and “make changes” instead of “do changes.” Proofreading for spelling and checking common word partnerships would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example, the sentence explaining how repeated routines become a comfort zone. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. In the introduction, “as people aging, they starting accepting” needs correctly formed verb phrases; “as people age, they start accepting” would be clearer. There are also agreement and sentence-structure problems in “changes in their habits and opinion is a cumbersome task” and “since then they are doing the same thing again and again, becomes their comfort zone.” The example ending “may not shifting” also needs a correct verb form. Practise accurate clauses and verb patterns, and divide long sentences when needed.
