Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you agree that habits and opinions change with age. The two reasons—moving from single life to family responsibilities and taking on work and financial responsibilities—are relevant, and the examples about parents supporting teenagers and adults having less time for hobbies help address the task. This fully covers the main question and shows some development beyond simply stating an opinion. However, the discussion of opinions is less developed than the discussion of habits: career opinions are mentioned, but the essay does not explain clearly how or why they change. To strengthen the response further, develop this point and make the examples more specific and directly connected to changing opinions as well as routines.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a concluding summary. The progression from family responsibilities to work responsibilities is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Therefore” and “As a result” show how ideas relate. At times, however, these connectors are repeated or used mechanically, and some links between sentences are unclear. For example, “Therefore, Earlier there habits…” does not connect smoothly to the preceding explanation, while “Because of this responsibility” repeats the same causal link. Use a wider range of transitions and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous one explicit. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow who “they” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “priorities,” “responsibilities,” “financial needs,” and “hobbies,” so the main ideas can be understood. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “centre of concern” and “work responsibilities.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, including “single life turn into family life,” “change everything,” and “opinions of career.” Spelling errors such as “priorites,” “responsibilites,” and “freinds” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would make your explanations clearer and help you express the distinction between changing habits and changing opinions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because,” “therefore,” and “as a result.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors occur across sentence structures and often make individual sentences difficult to read. For example, “It is often a debatable issue that whether…” has an incorrect clause pattern, and “The common reason is single life turn into family life” is missing grammatical elements and has an incorrect verb form. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “Children enjoys” and “the changes … is quite normal.” Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
