Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant position: you agree that people commonly change their habits and opinions as they grow older, and the example of your grandmother connects life experience with changes in outlook and exercise habits. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the explanation is brief and the example is not fully developed. The opening also says that not everyone needs to change, which makes your position less clear before you state your agreement at the end. The response is 39 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to explain your reasons. Develop both habits and opinions more explicitly, and add a specific example showing how age or responsibility led to a change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic overall shape: an opening statement, a paragraph about your grandmother, and a concluding statement of agreement. The example gives the response a central focus, and phrases such as “In short” signal a summary. However, progression is difficult to follow in places because ideas are repeated or joined without clear links. For instance, the final paragraph repeats the position and reasons already mentioned, while “I am saw this to my home example” does not clearly introduce the example. The grandmother paragraph also moves quickly between her business, experiences, opinions, and exercise habits. Use separate paragraphs for your position, reasons and example, and conclusion, with clear links showing how each point supports your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “opinions,” “experience,” “responsibility,” “confident,” and “exercise regularly.” These words help communicate the main ideas, and the example includes enough topic-related language to be understood. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “experiance,” “habbits,” “neccessory,” and “costomer.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “develop their habits in healthy” and “meeting to outstation.” Aim to learn accurate forms and natural collocations, such as “adopt healthy habits” and “meet customers while travelling for work.” More precise vocabulary for describing personal development would help you explain your ideas with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a sentence linking experience to changing opinions. However, the range of structures is limited, and frequent errors in sentence formation and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “People grow older they have many life experiance,” “She meet very people,” and “Today she 72.” There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “she decide to at 40 a good habit change the mind and body also.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check past-tense forms when narrating your grandmother’s experience. Accurate simple sentences should come before adding more complex clauses.
