Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often observed that people tend to change their habits and perspectives when they get aged. I agree with the statement, because everytime the situation and time would not be same, and a period of transition is necesarry with passing time. In this essay I will discuss the reason of changing habits, opinions and why it is important in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, I believe people who gets older has a change in their habits. One of the reason may be the drastic change in their physical appearence and mental inaccuracy. For instance, people when become aged usually lacks physical strength and many of them suffers from health conditions such as, respiratory, cardiac and metabolic problems. Therefore, it is essential for them to make positive changes in their habits to feel fit and maintaining their health.
Moreover, opinions also need to modified because, there is a generational gap which restrict the communication between older and newer generation, which is not at all good for a family to live happily. For example, elderly people often have a traditonal ways to deal with situation which ofcourse is very slow to manage it. Such as, technology, the older generation still relies on traditonal methods of communication like landline phones or telegram, some of them do not want a change in their behaviour.
To conclude, there should be change with changing time

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that people change as they age, and you give relevant reasons involving health and generational differences. The examples of older people adapting habits to health conditions and relying on older communication methods help address the question. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the health point is explained briefly, while the discussion of changing opinions is less convincing because it focuses mainly on communication habits and does not clearly show how opinions themselves change. The conclusion is also very brief and does not restate your main reasons. The response is 20 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop your examples. Explain each reason more fully and add a specific personal or observed example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. This makes the main stages easy to follow. The ideas generally progress from physical changes to generational differences, and linking expressions such as “For instance” and “Therefore” help show relationships. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The technology example shifts from landlines and telegrams to resistance to behavioural change without explaining the link to changing opinions. The final sentence is too abrupt to provide a satisfying ending, and punctuation around transitions and examples is inconsistent. Develop clearer links between each claim and its example, and use the conclusion to bring the argument together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “physical strength,” “health conditions,” “generational gap,” and “communication,” which allows you to discuss both ageing and family relationships. Some attempts at more specific language are useful, but several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or awkward, such as “mental inaccuracy,” “traditional ways,” and “when they get aged.” These sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Spelling errors such as “necesarry,” “appearence,” and “traditonal” also reduce control. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe declining physical or cognitive abilities rather than “mental inaccuracy,” and refer to older people as “as they age.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a result introduced by “Therefore.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “people who gets older has a change” should use plural agreement, while “opinions also need to modified” is missing “be.” In “older generation still relies,” the article is missing, and the sentence beginning “Such as, technology” is a fragment. Some punctuation also obscures sentence boundaries. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and revise agreement and passive forms before submitting.
