Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position in “I am agree with this statement” and begin to give a relevant reason: that people’s ideas and priorities change as they grow older. The example contrasting a teenager’s interest in makeup and going out with later concern about saving money also relates to the question. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the example is not explained, the second example is left unfinished (“second eg,”), and there is no discussion of changing habits beyond the brief opening definition. The response is also 172 words below the required minimum, leaving the reasons and examples substantially undeveloped. To improve, explain how age leads to each change and add a complete example for both habits and opinions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction gives your position, followed by a paragraph beginning with a reason and an example. Phrases such as “The foremost point” and “for instance” signal the intended relationship between ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the explanation is compressed, the example shifts abruptly from makeup to saving money, and “second eg” is an incomplete transition rather than a developed point. There is no concluding paragraph to bring the argument together. Organise the response into clear paragraphs for your position, each reason and example, and a conclusion; use linking phrases to show how each example supports your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “habits,” “ideas,” “saving money,” and “thoughts,” and the reader can identify the general point about changing priorities with age. However, the range is narrow and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “repeated behaviour automatically,” “ideas, visions,” and “thoughts are being manipulated.” “Concious” is also misspelled, and “second eg” is too informal for an IELTS essay. Choose more precise phrases for changes in priorities and behaviour, and check spelling and collocations. For example, you could describe a person as “reassessing their priorities” rather than saying their thoughts are manipulated.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both a definition and a longer sentence explaining change over time, so there is some variety in sentence structure. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. Examples include “as minds gets older,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “the ideas, visions changes,” which also has agreement and sentence-structure problems. “I am agree” uses an incorrect verb form, while the sentence beginning “for instance” is not properly capitalised and is difficult to parse. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence construction, and verb forms; then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
