Student answer (Band 6.0)
Yes, I strongly agree with that statement. I have seen a lot of people around me changed as they aged. I call it maturity or realisation. Most of the changes I have seen were very positive. I can say this about my grandfather who is like 75 years old now. He used to believe that the growth of internet ill affect the entire world in a very negative way. Eveytime he caught me doung something on my phone, he always repeat this "your are very lazy, that is why you are wasting your precious time on this useless machine". I was afraid to use phone on his presence just because of that. This happened like many years ago. Recently, I visited him and I saw him with a smart phone, that totally shooked me. I was never expecting him to use a phone he hated like anything in his entire life.
But I have noticed a lot of difference in the way he is now than then. He spend most of his time on phone, like any other person. But, in a good way. He is a farmer, who loves outdoor and spend most of his time in the farmland and garden. Now, he reduce his outdoor time instead he start to learn about the scientific way tk cultivate crops and about gardening.
It really caught me, I was too surprised by him using those technologies at this age. He was explaning me about everything he learned through social media and I felt so happy. Even he started to travel with his friends after he started a chat grouo with his friends. I was so happy to see how active he is now compared to those past years. He seemed to be more and more outhoing and funny person than ever.
So, I would say people changes with age, they might change their opinions and might start new hobbies as years pass by.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the opening—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. The account of your grandfather gives relevant, specific support: his earlier criticism of phones contrasts with his later use of one to learn about farming and reconnect with friends. This illustrates changes in both opinion and habits, so the response addresses the question and develops its central example. To strengthen the response further, explain more explicitly why age or experience led to these changes, rather than relying mainly on the sequence of events. The discussion also focuses almost entirely on one person; a brief second example or a broader explanation would make the support less dependent on a single case.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall progression: you state your view, describe your grandfather’s earlier attitude, show how his behaviour changed, and conclude with a general observation. Paragraphing helps separate the stages of the example, and links such as “Recently” and “Now” make the timeline easy to follow. This gives the essay a coherent structure. However, some connections are repetitive or awkward, particularly the repeated expressions of surprise and happiness in the later paragraphs. The final paragraph also introduces little beyond the example already given. To make progression more flexible, group related changes together and use clearer references when moving from his phone use to learning and socialising.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the example, including relevant terms such as “scientific way to cultivate crops,” “social media,” and “chat group.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural. For example, “shooked me” and “caught me” do not express your intended meaning accurately, while “on his presence” is an awkward phrase. There are also conspicuous spelling errors such as “Eveytime,” “explaning,” and “outhoing.” Aim to learn accurate phrases for describing changed attitudes and behaviour, and proofread carefully; more precise vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main events, and there are some attempts to combine ideas, for example, “He is a farmer, who loves outdoor and spend most of his time in the farmland and garden.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in verb forms and agreement occur repeatedly. Examples include “I have seen a lot of people around me changed,” “he always repeat,” and “He spend most of his time.” The sentence beginning “Now, he reduce his outdoor time” also shifts between present and past forms without a clear reason. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning remains understandable. Practise consistent tense choices for past events and present habits, and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
