Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is said recently that some individuals when they get older it develops perspective on thier thoughts and make change in thier habits.

Firstly, in my opinion i agree with these statement when people get older you are not force to change your thougths or activities but it happens because of the life cycle. Example, when you were younger your just thinking about playing, going to school, studies, having fun and many more. And also you can do a lot of sports like swimming, cyling, running, basketball or any sports. Because your body if you are young it is have more strenght and flexible to any activieties.

Secondly in my experience now that i getting older all my perspective it all change, it is so much pressure now because im a bread winner in my family i always think about what will happen to me or how i will become in the future. There are many thoughts inside my mind. Example, about my work, income i always thinks how can i get money if i resign in my job and what source of income, For activities or sports it is a big change for me because my body i a little bit tired. before i can do a lot of sports in my vacant time, now when i arrive at home i canno't even do the dishes and many of my friends calling me to play but my mind and body is tired of the whole day at my work.

to conclude that if you are getting older all might change so you just need to go with the flow just do what makes you happy and give appreciation in yourself for all the memories and achievement you gain.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people’s habits and opinions change as they age. You address both opinions and habits, and the personal example about becoming the family breadwinner gives your argument relevance. The contrast between having time and energy for sports when younger and feeling tired after work now is also useful support. However, the discussion of changing opinions is less fully explained than the discussion of habits and responsibilities. Some points, such as the general list of childhood activities, are not connected clearly to why people’s views change. To strengthen the response, explain the causes and consequences of each change more fully and use a specific example to show how an opinion has changed over time.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The second body paragraph develops a personal example, and the contrast between past and present helps the reader follow the main idea. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Example” introduces details without a complete linking sentence, and the shift from changing opinions to sports and physical tiredness is abrupt. The conclusion offers a final message but does not clearly summarise the two main reasons. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports, and make pronoun references precise so the progression between ideas feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “perspective,” “bread winner,” “source of income,” and “activities.” The contrast between “younger” and “getting older” is also clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. Examples include “it develops perspective on their thoughts,” “give appreciation in yourself,” and “my body is a little bit tired.” Spelling errors such as “thier,” “strenght,” and “activieties” also affect accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for changing views, responsibilities, and physical energy, and check spelling and common word combinations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast between past and present and a reason introduced with “because.” This gives the response some variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “when people get older you are not force to change” shifts subject and uses an incorrect verb form, while “now that i getting older” is missing an auxiliary. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Improve control by checking that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, keeping pronouns consistent, and practising accurate past and present forms. Use punctuation to separate long ideas into manageable sentences.
