Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that changing habits and opinions is very common for people as they grow older. I completely agree that individuals update themselves as they age. This essay will explain the reasons for my view.

To begin with, one major reason is that human being have very cognitive thinking power and they always keep learning something new. This is because, after every day or month, something comes new in market which attracts them to adapt it. For instance, there was no touch screen mobile phones in old time and people do not knew how to search about any topic they do not have knowledge about but nowadays, everyone has mobile phones and they are learning paramount skills through social media and youtube.

Another important reason is generation gap. As after every few years, folks who born are different from others who are already grown ups. For example, siblings with age gap of 5 years have different level of gaining skills. Moreover, people in india used to think that using phones is big issue and it is a detrimental for them. However, now they have learnt that technology can be used to earn by making videos on social media and they can also promote their business through making their business profile on different plateforms. Consequently, older sibling sees their younger ones and try to change themselves.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that modifying lifestyle and believes as people grow old is really necessary to survive in this modern era because it assist individuals to understand each other better and stay up to date in this world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons—ongoing learning and generational differences—and support them with examples involving mobile phones, social media and business promotion. This addresses the question, and the examples make your response more than a list of opinions. However, the first reason focuses mainly on learning new technology, so the link between ageing and changes in habits or opinions could be explained more explicitly. The sibling example is also asserted rather than fully developed. To strengthen the response, explain how experience, changing responsibilities or exposure to younger generations leads people to revise particular beliefs and routines.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “Another important reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. The examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. “This is because, after every day or month” does not clearly explain the preceding claim, while “As after every few years” makes the start of the second body paragraph difficult to follow. The conclusion also introduces the idea that change helps people understand one another without developing it earlier. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one central idea consistently.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “generation gap,” “detrimental,” “promote their business,” and “stay up to date.” These choices show an attempt to go beyond basic wording, and the main message is usually understandable. However, several inaccurate or unnatural expressions limit precision: “human being have very cognitive thinking power,” “something comes new in market,” and “different plateforms.” There is also repetition of general terms such as “people,” “change,” and “skills,” and “believes” is not the correct noun form for opinions. Aim for natural collocations and accurate word forms, such as describing people as “adaptable” or saying that new products “enter the market.” Proofreading spelling and phrasing would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “who,” and “that,” and your overall meaning can generally be followed. However, errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “human being have” needs plural agreement, “people do not knew” uses the wrong verb form, and “siblings with age gap of 5 years” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “As after every few years” is also structurally incomplete, and “it assist individuals” has a subject–verb agreement error. These patterns make some sentences awkward or unclear. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each clause for a clear subject, a correctly formed verb and appropriate articles.
