Student answer (Band 5.5)

Genrally, the people had change there habits and opinion when they growing older.I largely agree with this statment.Individual have there oponion or intrest but when there are getting older there maturite and there thinking capasite are incressing so they change there opinion and habits.

Firstly, when there are child they love to play games or palynig outside.moreover they think like there age or they get time to understand thing batter. As they have some habbies like playning cricket, badminton, etc.but when they are getting older they don't have time to play that game beacuse of there work so that hobbies are change. For example,In one interview amitab bacchan say that thay have inretstig to play vollyboll, but when they joined the film industries that not get time to play those game so him hobbies change when they get older.so, when the people geting older sometimes they chnage there hobbies according to there time.

secondly, the people are having the strong opinion they can't change easily but when they are becoming mature they understand thing in better way so they change there opinion.however, they strongly beleive that one praticluar topic and they make strong opinion but when things actual happen they realise and change there opinion. For instance, when child go to school they beleive that only there are getting more stress to stady but when they growup there realise that there chilhood is best age.

In my opinion, I strongly beleive that when people getting older thay change there opinion or habbiets according to the situaction. If the peeple having a time to enjoy there hobbies when they have a time but the hobbies are change according to there age or time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: “I largely agree,” and you address both habits and opinions. The examples about children playing less as work takes up time and about changing views of school stress are relevant to the question. However, the discussion of habits is more fully explained than the discussion of opinions, which relies mainly on a general observation about childhood and school. The Amitabh Bachchan example is specific, but its connection to the broader point could be explained more clearly. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clearer explanation of how age or changing responsibilities leads to a change, and make the examples more precise and directly supportive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “secondly,” and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the main line of argument. You also use linking expressions such as “moreover,” “however,” and “for example.” At times, though, these links feel mechanical or do not show the relationship between ideas clearly; for instance, “moreover” introduces a point about children’s understanding that is not clearly an addition to the previous claim. Some references, including “they” and “that game,” are unclear, and the final paragraph repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to its main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “habits,” “opinion,” “mature,” “stress,” and “hobbies.” There are also attempts to vary expression, such as “thinking capacity” and “particular topic.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and word-form errors make parts of the response difficult to read, for example “there maturite,” “habbiets,” and “situaction.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the hobbies are change” and “understand thing in better way.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn common collocations such as “change their habits,” “develop a more mature perspective,” and “make time for hobbies.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “when” and “but,” and the reader can generally identify your main meaning. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “when they growing older” needs a finite verb, while “they change there opinion” requires a possessive determiner and a consistent verb form. Several sentences combine clauses without clear grammatical connections, as in “As they have some habbies like playning cricket…” The opening and conclusion also contain incomplete or awkward constructions. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences will make your ideas easier to follow.
